No creature should eat our cabbage
It took several years to reach this decision. I even wanted not to grow cabbage anymore. None. Well, what is it, every time someone bites it... Whole hordes of little eaters.
All season I just ran, then sprinkle, then spray.
And if she didn't run, then the cabbage was quickly eaten, not by people, of course.
And how others grow
I don't consider chemistry (poisons). So, in life we are all chemically treated.
I heard that this vegetable is grown under a covering material. I tried it.
Our winds broke the Snowdrop greenhouse the year before last. The arcs were cut off, and the pegs remained in the ground.
I tried just metal arcs with a covering material. I pressed the edges with bricks. Winds tore arcs and bricks scattered. Sailability ...
I didn't even try cabbage caps. Not everyone is happy with them.
But I really liked the Chinese idea of growing under a mosquito net. The best you can imagine!
My decision
I couldn’t buy the netting, for some reason it wasn’t on sale. Found it! In StroyGiant. The width is a meter, but I need 2 m. What should I do? I bought 2 cuts of 8 m and sewed them on a sewing machine. This is how our cabbage is now hidden:
I water it right through the mesh. And the rain watered successfully. The wind does not break such a structure, there is no windage.
You can clearly see how cabbage is doing there:
Garden bed 6 m, fasteners - clothespins:
On the sides, I fixed it on one side to the reinforcement (it remained from the greenhouse), on the other side I pressed it down with a brick. The structure successfully passed the tests in a strong wind.
Additional bonus: cats do not lie on cabbage and do not eat it.
How do you protect your cabbage?
I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
