This is a phrase from an old anecdote about a new Russian, and it illustrates this case well. How exactly I will tell you further.

I went to buy the board, because I planned to make myself a large bright veranda so that I could grow seedlings in spring, and at other times I could sit with a cup of tea in the fresh air.

I figured out how much wood I would need and went to buy. I counted on 4 cubes - it is with a margin, and there was only enough money for three - this is right next to it.

And after all, what is interesting, even last fall, and in winter, prices were completely different.

I thought, well, they will rise a little by the spring by 4 cubic meters, I will save up... aha saved up.

When I looked at the prices, I asked the seller that it had risen so much. The answer was, as in that joke: "Yes, just recently they raised by 5%"

Probably I taught the wrong math at school. Or is it some kind of special mathematics for economists, according to which the rise in inflation of 5% is quite correlated with the rise in prices in stores.

The current price for a 1-2 grade pine board was 16 thousand rubles, grade 3-4 - 13 thousand rubles.

And such a rise in prices is completely incomprehensible.

Before, after all, how - the price of gasoline or the dollar rose - it is expected that soon all prices crawl. And here is not something that crawled - took off.

For me, the rationale for such a rapid rise in prices is completely incomprehensible: transportation costs may have increased slightly, electricity Perhaps more was spent in the manufacture of boards on sawmills, workers' wages were raised (quite fantastic), or for other reasons.

Probably because of "Other reasons" and this rapid rise in the price of «5%». And for the mathematics that we were taught at school, the price has increased by 90%.

But if you think about it, now it is only the beginning of the season and the boards for construction will be dismantled and at such a price. In addition, this is not a product that can quickly deteriorate, on the contrary, with proper storage, the board will dry out, which will be even better.
