I thought for a long time: to use a corrugation for the cable, or not π€·ββοΈ? I found out the main pros and cons that helped to make a decision π.
For me, electrical installation is that part of my construction site where I don't want to show "creativity", but do everything according to the rules. But no, and here you have to solve issues, and make decisions that professionals cannot cope with.
Friends, everyone is a huge hello. I continue to learn the intricacies of electrical installation, and apply everything at my construction site. At the moment, the small basement of my house is, so to speak, a place for training and getting initial experience, after which I will spread to the main premises.
In general, a lot of work has already been done in the basement, details on my channel.
It's time for the posting.
And here the main task that had to be solved was the choice of the method of cable installation.
I'm already waiting for a lot of advice in the comments about what you need to first study the PUE, and then get into this matter... But I understand perfectly well that it is simply impossible to study all this in a short time.
We will act in the way of an ordinary self-builder. We study examples, reviews and tips π ...
β Against, the following arguments can be called:
- Extra costs. Both for material and not for work (installation work in corrugation is paid more)
- Complication of the process. Excessive movements and manipulations, when the cable is inserted into the corrugation, and the installation of fasteners.
β For the corrugation:
- Additional protection. And this applies not only to open wiring. The cable inside the wall can be damaged by deformation of the masonry (especially in new houses). It is also unknown how different primers, impregnations, etc. will affect. funds for cable insulation, and its durability.
- Ease of installation. Yes, many consider the process of inserting the cable into the corrugation as a disadvantage, but here the hand quickly gets filled. But the subsequent convenience of attaching to clips is a clear plus. And if you need to somehow modify and redo the cable lines, then dismantling will be very simple.
- Costs are penny. It's like saving on masking tape when decorating... The price ratio for the corrugation and the rest of the wiring accessories is simply negligible.
And all these "FOR", for me were more convincing.
I made open wiring to the basement ceiling.
By the way, I am aware that on combustible surfaces, you need to do everything in a metal hose, but... In the basement, in my case, I do not see the point in this, since these boards are the basis (formwork) for a concrete slab poured from above. And they have no connection with the main areas of the house.
And so to plant the cable in wood, only for pleasure.
Of course, the amount of work here is small, but sufficient to feel everything with your own hands, and make sure you make the right choice.
Friends, I look forward to your opinion and advice in the comments. Perhaps I do not know something and have not taken into account? Your experience will be very useful for my further work.
