Making a wooden chair in a home workshop. Part 1
I made this chair four years ago in my home workshop. In the manufacture I used hand-held power tools and home-made devices.
I chose pine as the material for the manufacture, because it is the most affordable material.
I made a chair for a child, and despite active use, this chair remains strong even after four years. For pine chairs, this is a good result.
Next there will be a series of articles and video clips on the channel, in which I will show in detail how this chair was made and perhaps you will find something useful for yourself.
Electric hand tools and accessories will be used. All stages of manufacturing, including finishing, will be shown.
Project
When developing such furniture on your own, the question of dimensions usually arises. For myself, I solved it, taking information from GOST “Household furniture. Functional dimensions of sitting and lying furniture "
And based on these dimensions, I developed a project for the future chair using SketchUp.
For this project, I have chosen a fairly simple design. The back is not high and the upper part is installed on the rear legs from above. The seat is made of a flat board and in this design can be upholstered with foam rubber and fabric to get a soft seat.
The dimensions can be seen in the picture below.
The seat is made with a slight slope. The back is also tilted. The corners are kept in accordance with GOST.
At the end you will be able to download these drawings, as well as the project for the SketchUp program.
In the process of developing a project, I immediately roughly figured out how I would make certain details, based on the tool that I had at that time.
For most of the actions, I already had the best practices, but for the manufacture of the back I had to make an additional device.
Read and see how this chair was made in the following publications, and now I suggest watch the video with the analysis of the project.
You can download the project link.
Last year, the channel had a series of posts on making a bathroom cabinet. Who is interested can see link.
And even earlier, there was a series of articles on making a durable, reliable stool. You can see here.
Thanks for reading. I would be glad to have your support in the form of a like and a subscription to the channel And see other publications on the channel.
