Making a wooden chair in a home workshop: making chair legs. Attachment for a router. Part 2
The back legs of the chair are curved and must be made the same regardless of the number of chairs made. It is convenient to make a template for this.
For the first part about the project, see link
When marking the legs, you should pay attention to the texture of the wood, so that it is, if possible, along the leg.
You can cut the legs along the markings with a jigsaw or on a band saw. The marking line must be left on the leg.
Next, the prepared parts need to be brought to the same size for this, I used a simple tool for a router. (Scroll through the gallery)
The template was glued to the leg blank on double-sided tape.
Since I only had a short cutter at the time, I did the machining in several passes.
First, I milled with a template.
Then he removed the template, turned the workpiece over and milled it with support on the already finished part.
If there is a cutter with a lower bearing and a working part height of more than 40 mm, the legs can also be prepared according to a template, but without using a device.
I propose to look at the manufacture of chair legs and the use of this device in video clip.
You can download the chair project link.
It is interesting
Last year, the channel had a series of posts on making a bathroom cabinet. Who is interested can see link.
And even earlier, there was a series of articles on making a durable, reliable stool. You can see here.
