Sber showed his drone, which surpasses Tesla

SberAutoTech, a member of the Sberbank ecosystem, demonstrated at the last St. Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF) a fully autonomous electric car of its own design.

The car shown at the forum belongs to completely unmanned vehicles, classified as the fifth (highest possible) class of autonomy according to international standards.

A vehicle of a similar class of autonomy was planned to be produced by such a well-known company as Tesla, headed by Elon Musk, but, as they say representatives of Reutes, in May of this year, representatives of Tesla said that they could not yet achieve absolute autonomy at least until the end of this year.

At the moment, the level of autonomy of the popularized Tesla according to international standards is equal to only the second level, which means that driver control over driving is strictly mandatory.

So the new Sberbank got the name "FLIP" and, at its core, has an electric platform of its own design. As stated in the press service of Sberbank, the layout of the elements of an unmanned vehicle is such that they can easy to replace in just 5 minutes (in about the same time, you can fill a regular tank with gasoline).

In addition, it was especially emphasized that, in addition to electricity, the vehicle can be powered by gas or hydrogen.

In terms of dimensions "FLIP" coincides with a standard passenger car, but its internal space is larger and allows comfortably accommodate six passengers at once.

When "FLIP" appears on the roads

A pilot project for the use of such drones was announced at SPIEF by K. Bogdanov (Deputy Minister of Transport). According to him, drones can begin to be used on the Moscow - St. Petersburg highway in 2024.

It is for these purposes that special hubs will be built on the M11 highway. All the necessary infrastructure can cost $ 6 million. rubles per kilometer of track, but as it is especially emphasized, the use of unmanned trucks can significantly reduce the cost of transportation.
