How to create wood texture on any surface. The secret of the masters
Fantasy in decor knows no boundaries. This applies not only to styles, but also to the very technologies and techniques for finishing. The technology of imitation and decoration of wood-like surfaces can be especially highlighted. The creation of wood-like surfaces on concrete is a whole art, then paint a plastered wall or elements under a tree in our time can everyone thanks to such textured spatulas or applicators:
Two spatulas in a set made of dense rubber with dimensions: large - 14.7x6.3 cm, small - 7.3x6.3 cm. It is simple to create a wood-like surface for them: paint the surface itself in paint with a tone that is darker than the base. And swipe the spatula by tilting it back and forth (rocking). The speed of this "wiggle" will determine the length of the "fibers" of the pattern. Link on aliexpress

There are some subtleties of creating a wood grain texture. The paint or varnish should be darker than the base and should not absorb too much into the base. To do this, the surface must first be primed and painted. If the texture is created on a plastered wall (or element), then the wall should be painted white or beige. And the paint should dry completely.
In order that the water-based paint, with which the drawing will be created, does not dry out quickly, PVA glue is added to it.
Do the same with a wooden surface. There are woods where the texture is not visible (birch, red woods). And with this roller, they are given the texture of other species, such as pine. To do this, paint the surface with impregnation in a lighter tone (golden oak, Oregon, etc.), and the second or even the third layer is applied with a darker composition (wenge, rosewood) and quickly carried out with a spatula.

A detailed technique for creating a picture can be seen in this video:
The same spatula is used to create textures on plaster or thick paints. And then they are covered with tinted wax - a two-tone volumetric surface is obtained, which imitates wood as much as possible.
