What is a modern balanced interior? 6 illustrative examples

Curvilinear elements (such as arches), gilding, stucco molding, massive furniture, furs and frills - all this is not as fashionable as it was 5, 10, 20 years ago. I will say more! This is a sign of bad taste and "ostentatious barbaric wealth" rather than style and at least some design idea.

Good afternoon dear friends!

And if you are a fan of such excesses, then you will have to disappoint you, because they have no place in a modern trendy interior. It is more about minimalism, simple, laconic things, and not about "expensive and rich", as was customary in our country not so long ago. At the same time, a similar trend manifests itself in everything: in the style of the interior, finishing materials, furniture, textiles and accessories, and not in any specific things.

Therefore, so that you did not make a mistake when arranging your home and it was easier for you to navigate in the modern "apartment" fashion, I have prepared this material.

1.Adequate furniture. Today, the main criterion when choosing pieces of furniture is the size of the room. All furnishings and their quantity must correspond 100% to the proportions of the room. In a modern interior, free space and ease of movement are appreciated, and not an armchair in every corner.

And the furniture itself should be of better quality (not expensive, namely sound quality), simple shapes and lines, and not one that will amaze the guests of your house with its size and price.

2.Home lighting. Thanks to energy-saving technologies and the advent of LED lamps, the need to save money on lighting your home has disappeared. Now it is advisable to use several light sources in one room: ceiling and wall lamps, decorative lighting (for example, around the perimeter of a bed or a mirror) etc. Moreover, the more light sources are involved in the interior, the more there should be "opportunities" for adjusting it (using different scenarios throughout days).

So it is no longer fashionable to hang one large chandelier with many bright bulbs in the middle of the room. It is more correct to distribute the light over the entire area of the room.

3.Carpets made from natural materials. Carpets play several roles in a modern interior! They decorate the space of the room and divide it into several functional zones. At the same time, it is not at all necessary to purchase one massive carpet that can occupy the entire room from wall to wall. It is enough to use, as an option, a few small rugs to create coziness and emphasize the area near the bed, sofa or work table.

By the way, even a small discreet rug will do its job if it is selected in accordance with the color scheme of your interior.

4.Textiles for windows. Sophisticated, eye-catching curtains made of shiny fabric with ruffles, garters and lambrequins are a thing of the past. They were replaced by classic thick or translucent curtains, blinds or Roman blinds. In general, more practical textiles than decorative ones!

Which does an excellent job not only in protecting walls, floors, ceilings and furniture from direct sunlight, but also your personal life from prying eyes.

5.Houseplants. Sustainability is an extremely popular trend in modern design. And if once plants were considered an outdated element of the interior, now the opposite is true. Indoor plants and flowers must be present in the bedroom, living room, kitchen and even bathroom. And why?

Yes, because they can easily decorate the interior of any apartment, bring a fresh, bright touch, improve air quality, and generally help to relax and unwind after a hard day at work.

6.Decorative accessories. Once upon a time, pillows were folded in a beautiful slide on the bed, then only one, intended for sleeping, was dispensed with. And today they have become an indispensable decorative attribute that can decorate a sofa, an armchair, a couch, and a chaise longue... The main thing in this business is not to overdo it: 1-2 for an armchair, 2-3 for a bed or a small sofa, 3-4 pieces for a sofa more.

The main criterion for choosing is that they should not interfere with your daily life. As for the decorative side of the issue, the pillows should overlap not only with each other, but also with the interior of the room as a whole.
