7 little tricks from the magazine "Science and Life" 1985, which are useful even today (part 5)
For many of us, repairing, working in the country, cleaning the house is a painful work. In fact, knowing some tricks can make your life easier. I propose to once again recall the Soviet era, leaf through the magazine "Science and Life". Even now, some of the tips are still valid.
I found several magazines from 1985 in my closet at my dacha. I have old books, magazines, newspapers there.
I chose a few tips (little tricks). It is a pity if such "treasures" are wasted.
1. The first tip is to repair the kitchen faucet if the faucet does not completely shut off the water.
It is advised to open the water in the bath. Then remove the faulty tap by plugging the socket with a bottle cap. After repairing the valve, remove the plug and insert the new valve into place.
2. From an old bathtub, you can make a mini-pond in the country. Dig a hole to fit the size of the bath, line the edges with a stone. Plant plants at the bottom for natural water purification.
3. In order not to cut the threads, the bolt is wrapped in foil and the place with the thread is well pressed. Next, you need to apply epoxy and insert the bolt into the hole also filled with epoxy. Wait until the glue hardens and you can unscrew / screw in the bolt.
4. It so happens that the handle of the kettle gets very hot. You can find and put the spring on the bolt and fasten it to the handle. This way the handle will not get warm.
5. A. Zubarev sent one idea. It is convenient to make pits for posts with a sharp piece of pipe. You need to make holes in it and weld the handle. Then this pipe is driven into the soil and removed. This is done several times.
6. Another tricky piece of advice from L. Nikolaev. So that the flowers in the far corner of the room are illuminated and they have enough light, you need to do this. Fix a mirror on the windowsill and point it at the flower.
7. It is better to make the nozzle on the watering can yourself from a piece of plastic pipe. Make holes in it and close the 2 ends. It is convenient to water with such a nozzle - it covers more space.
This is just a small part of the little tips for giving and home. Do you remember this magazine and its little tricks?
