Houses in the Indian foothills of the Himalayas. What is done in them in order to survive the cold winters
Good day to all!
This time I was carried to the Himalayas! More precisely, in the foothills of the Himalayas, which is located in India. To be more precise, I am in Bhagsu.
Now is the height of summer. The season itself. A whole bunch of Indians came in large numbers... They are everywhere here: on all paths, in every waterfall and on every mountain !!!
The temperature during the day is very comfortable for me. It fluctuates from 19 to 28 degrees. At night 13-19. It is a little cooler when it rains, and warmer when the sun is shining. In general, the very thing is to climb all the mountains, and swim in all mountain streams and waterfalls! And nature here is simply Divine!
Recently I caught myself thinking that I want to know how things are here in winter. I searched the Internet, asked the locals... The bottom line: winters are pretty cold here. There are frosts at night. And sometimes it even snows, and sometimes it lays for several days.
My question arose: what did the Indians do in their homes in order to calmly survive the rather cold winters? And here is my unequivocal answer - nothing!
I say this not only on the basis of my inspection of the guest house in which I live. I went around a lot of houses. I spoke with tourists from the west. And therefore, my application has a solid foundation.
Of course, I do not know how things are in other cities, but in the place where I stayed, everything is exactly like that!
Houses here are built in much the same way as in the rest of India, where there is no cold weather. Just a concrete wall. And that's it! About insulation, heating..., and other things useful in the cold, no one here even knows!
What do I think of this? If I had not traveled around India, then it probably would have shocked me. But, my psyche is already ready for a lot, so I am philosophical about this fact!
Probably, these people are neither hot nor cold. Probably, their bodies are different from ours, and they somehow feel everything differently. Or they just endure three months a year, but how much money they save without bothering with high-quality construction ...
My friends, what do you think about this? What have you encountered and what still does not fit in your head? Write! Always glad to communicate!
Good luck to all!
Bye!
Namaste!
