Grenadier: benefit and harm, how to cook

Benefits and harms of hoki are now well known only to a narrow circle of specialists, as this fish is still looking for its fans. Its popularity is not high, however, with each passing day more and more people try it and be sure that having a majority of the positive properties of cod, it is much more tasty.

Hoki (Grenadier): what kind of fish

Grenadier - a fish the cod family, common almost everywhere. It can be found in all oceans except the absolutely north. A distinctive feature of the grenadier or Hoki is a long body with a thin tail.

Live fish at depths to 2 km, and, nevertheless, it is the object of fishery. Weight fish does not exceed 4 kg, and its size reaches less than 100 cm. Vitamin and mineral composition is typical for the majority of Tresckow and almost completely repeats structure of hake. But also its own characteristics, too. Specifically, 100 g of Hoki contains a daily dose of chromium and two daily doses of cobalt and such essential amino acids:

  • lysine - 1710 mg;
  • leucine - 1070 mg;
  • arginine - 980 mg.

Like all representatives of the family, meat grenadier contains omega-3 fatty acids in an amount of 230 mg, which is approximately 30% greater than found in cod.

Nutritional value hoki reminiscent of almost all Tresckow:

  • Protein - 13.2%;
  • fat - 0.8%.
