click fraud protection

If ants are bred in the garden, then nothing good can be expected. Colonies of these insects spoil berries, fruits, vegetables and green spaces; increase the acidity of the soil; destroy trees, shrubs and flowers; contribute to the spread of aphids; provoke plant diseases. But you can get rid of this scourge with an inexpensive and proven folk remedy, which we will discuss below.

What does that require

The set of ingredients for preparing an ant repellent consists of only two items:

  • boric acid (powder) - 20 g;
  • eggs - 4 pcs.

And you will also need: a disposable plastic container; fork; latex gloves.

Prescription and application

Boil the eggs hard-boiled, peel, separate the whites from the yolks. Mash the yolks in a container, add 20 grams of boric acid to them and mix thoroughly.

Roll balls 4–6 mm in diameter from the resulting mass. Important! Use rubber gloves when forming balls to keep the chemical out of contact with the skin.

Next, you need to spread the bait in places where ants accumulate and in the immediate vicinity of anthills. From now on, everything will happen by itself.

Insects will quickly spread the "treat" to their nests, where it will produce a destructive effect. You just have to wait two weeks and the ants will disappear from your site.

Egg balls with boric acid help get rid of ants not only in the area or in the garden, but also at home.

What is good about this remedy

Boric acid is used as a remedy for ants in various recipes. Banana peel is soaked in its solution, which is then used to fight these harmful insects.

But the ants are unable to quickly carry the poisoned banana peel to the anthill, and with this method beneficial insects die from it, for example, bees that pollinate the plants. That is, when the bait lies on the surface for a long time, not only ants feast on it. And when boric acid is supplied in the form of balls, the ants quickly carry them away and other insects do not suffer. They simply do not have time to notice them.

Moreover, this chemical, destructive for ants, works more pointwise, faster and in full volume gets into the anthill, where, moreover, their offspring are located.

Small calculation of costs

In order not to be unfounded, we will calculate the costs of this case. If you buy boric acid at the nearest pharmacy, then its cost today will be 78–86 rubles per 10 grams. We need 20 grams, so 86 * 2 = 172 rubles. Well, 4 eggs will cost just 28 rubles. The poison prepared from this amount of ingredients is enough to get rid of ants on 6 acres. Hence, 200 rubles ...
