For the first time in Russia a spacesuit designed for manned flights aboard the Oryol spacecraft was demonstrated
At the ongoing International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS), the Research and Production Enterprise "Zvezda" showed to the general public a completely new spacesuit "Sokol-M", which was developed for flights on the new spacecraft "Eagle", which previously bore the name "Federation".
New spacesuits for new Russian ships
S. Pozdnyakov (director of the Zvezda enterprise). So, according to Pozdnyakov, this is nothing more than a kind of shell with minimal equipment. In this case, a special knitted suit with tubes will be used to perform ventilation.
And the oxygen supply will be carried out even if the astronaut is even without this special overalls.
The main task of the specialists was to make the suit reusable (use up to 10 times) and make it (the suit) could be easily adjusted to the length of the arms, height, etc.
At the same time, it is planned to make several spacesuits of standard sizes. So, according to the authors' idea, any future cosmonaut can go to the closet where spacesuits of standard sizes (for example, XL, L, M) are stored, and then simply adjusts all the necessary parameters for themselves.
Also, in the new version of the Russian spacesuit, it is planned to use a belt connector, and not hermetic zippers, as in earlier versions of spacesuits.
I would like to add that the first test launch of the Russian spacecraft "Eagle" is scheduled for the end of 2023. And already a full-fledged launch with a crew should take place in 2025, and starting in 2028, it is assumed that the "Eagle" will already begin to fly to our natural satellite - the Moon.
Well, it's nice to see that the domestic space program is developing and is trying to keep up with its Western and Eastern colleagues. And let's hope that within the specified time frame, it is the Russian cosmonauts who will fly to the moon and even to Mars on Russian ships and spacesuits.
