Few know. How to make a threaded end on a metal pipe without cutting
We needed a thread on the pipe for the expansion tank, cutting is problematic, since the club will not fit. For this case, there are special plumbing, metal couplings, but there is an easier way, especially if there is no high pressure. True, this requires a soldering iron for welding polypropylene pipes.
How did
I decided to use fittings (25) for polypropylene pipes, took a coupling and an end with an external thread. It was possible to do with one end, but the pipe section made it possible to make a more reliable connection.
He heated the tube with a gas burner and put on the sleeve (25), a little more than the middle. He let it cool down, it keeps tight, you can continue.
I fixed a nozzle for 25 to the soldering iron, welded a piece of pipe into the coupling, cut it off, and welded the threaded end. Ready!
Experience of use
I am doing this option for the second time, for the first time I had to do it on the water supply system. The owner has rotted away the threaded connection, there is a small segment left, the club cannot get close, and the condition of the pipe is not so hot. In the same way, I planted a threaded end, but warned that the solution was temporary, and advised me to replace the pipes. The connection served for more than 9 years, until new neighbors appeared, who replaced the riser, and changed the branch to this retired owner.
