A simple sofa in a home workshop. What to do if the armrests are different. Part 4
The armrests were glued together from several parts and without a common template to keep the shape, so it is not surprising that they turned out to be a little different.
This result arose for several reasons:
The workpieces were cut roughly before gluing, since the armrest still needed to be sanded after gluing.
Attention was paid to the tight fit of the ends in the bend of the armrest, and here even a slight a sub-degree deviation can lead to a visible deflection at the ends of the armrest, as happened in the end.
In fact, for this particular sofa, such a discrepancy does not really matter. Now, if it was a serial production of such armrests, then a template must be made.
And for one product, there will be no confusion and the difference in bending on the finished sofa will not be visible.
Let me remind you of the drawing of the sofa frame.
The discrepancy turned out to be about 10 mm. and when assembling the side of the sofa, this will be reflected only at the point of attachment to the C-pillar.
Before assembling in this pair of armrests, you need to align the lower part, since during assembly the markings will go from the bottom.
To do this, you need to combine the bends, mark and align the divergence.
You also need to mark and cut out the cutouts for the rear pillar.
And before starting the assembly, you need to mark and cut out the front side of the sofa.

And even earlier, there was a series of articles on making a durable, reliable stool. You can see here.
And more recently it was series about chair making.
