How to mix concrete by hand and not "overstrain": 2 ways to make the process easier

Making concrete by hand is hard and not very pleasant work. If there is no concrete mixer at hand, then you have to sweat a lot. For a beginner, making concrete with a shovel often ends up with bloody calluses and back pain. To prevent this from happening, adopt two simple ways.

Method one: replace the shovel with a hoe

A shovel is a versatile and convenient tool, but in the case of preparing a concrete solution, it is better to replace it with a hoe. But not every hoe will do. For example, an ordinary garden hoe will not work - it will not withstand the load. We need a kind of hoe, which is called a ketmen - this is a more powerful tool of labor.

It is with this tool that it is much easier to knead the concrete solution. The movement is the same as when weeding: the hoe / ketmen with a little effort is immersed in the solution and pulled towards itself. The speed of preparation of the solution and its quality with this method is higher, and less effort is spent.

It is better to use a flat trough or bath as a container. If the batch has to be prepared in a plastic trough, then the corners of the hoe should be rounded and the point blunt so that they do not damage the container.

Method two - on cement milk

First, you need to calculate the proportions of cement, fillers and water. Next, pour water into the container and dissolve cement in it in small portions. You get cement milk. Add sand to the cement milk in small portions and mix. The last step is to add crushed stone. After adding crushed stone, the solution is mixed until homogeneous.

With this method, the most difficult and time-consuming process is bypassed - mixing the concrete components dry. And also impurities and lumps of dry cement are excluded, since the binder dissolves in water in the first place. And if you combine these two methods and use a hoe when mixing, then you can completely forget about a torn back and calluses.
