The fence in front of the house, built now, cost us more than a large garage 3 years ago

Until recently, the house we built was not fenced off by anything from the side of the road. Of course, we live in the suburbs, but still, I really wanted to separate the plot from the street. When the construction was going on, there was a wooden fence, then it had to be removed when the communications were done. And so, from spring to late summer, we were all going to build ourselves a fence.

Our project

Of course, I wanted to make a beautiful and reliable fence so that it would be in harmony with the house and protect from prying eyes. We still have facing brick from the construction of the house, which we did not sell, deciding to make pillars out of it and lay sheets of corrugated board between them.

I have seen such fences, I like them, they are quite suitable in appearance.

Work started

Of course, we cheated ourselves a little, made it up to the price increase without buying a corner and a profile for crossbars and gates last year. But, it's good that they bought the corrugated board at a reasonable price.

First, it was necessary to make the foundation and drill holes for the posts. Since our soil is clayey, we drilled with a hand drill. The foundation was poured onto steel reinforcement and reinforced with masonry mesh.

It was a pity to even spend the boards for the formwork, because the price of the edged board is now simply cosmic. And what if, somewhere, these boards are still needed!

But then the foundation was poured, the work on its arrangement cost us 35,000 rubles. Yes, this price also includes the installation of posts.

Then the crossbeams were welded onto the posts and made the so-called "mortgages" for the gates and wickets. After that, they began to lay out the posts and the base. The work of the bricklayer cost another 30,000 rubles, taking into account the fact that the concrete workers messed with the foundation and had to pour and level.

Finally, the final work is the manufacture of gates, wickets and the installation of corrugated sheets. This work costs another 30,000 rubles. Basically, it was all done in one day, in 14 hours. They installed a lock, made a bolt on the gate, in general, all the work was done as it should.

In total, more than 180,000 rubles were spent on the installation of the fence. This is comparable to the fact that 3 years ago we built an annex-garage to the house for 170,000 rubles from an aerated block, facing bricks and a roof made of metal tiles.

So consider how many times the prices have risen, if a fence, just a fence, is worth such crazy money. Probably, now no one will be built. Although all our workers are constantly busy, without work, according to their words, they do not sit - that is, people are being built. Maybe how we - on old stocks, maybe we have saved up money, I don’t know. But for us, for sure, the construction is over.
