The average cost of boric acid is 300 rubles / kg; soda ash today costs 100–130 rubles / kg.

How to prepare the composition: proportions

First you need to mix soda ash with boric acid. The proportions of dry fire-retardant composition: 25% boric acid; 75% soda ash. Further, 1 kilogram of this mixture must be diluted in 9 liters of water.

Example. To obtain 36 liters of the composition, you need to mix 1 kilogram of boric acid, 3 kilograms of soda ash and dilute this powder in 36 liters of water.

In terms of costs, this will amount to: boric acid - 300 ₽; soda ash - 360 ₽ Total 660 rubles. One liter of the composition will thus be released for 18 rubles. This is several times cheaper than factory funds.

How to use fire protection

This composition perfectly penetrates wood and prevents the appearance of mold, fungi and insects. At the same time, fire protection, prepared according to this recipe, is safe for humans and animals. And also this tool does not have an unpleasant odor and practically does not stain wood. It can be used for both outdoor and indoor work, as well as used for processing home furniture.

It is necessary to process wood with this composition 2-3 times. There must be a pause of at least 25 minutes between treatments. Consumption of funds - 200-400 ml per 1 square meter of wood. Fire-retardant protection is applied at a temperature not lower than +5 degrees. Cannot be applied to frozen wood!

Important! If the composition penetrates well into the wood, then it can also be easily washed out of it. Therefore, surfaces in contact with water must be additionally treated with water-repellent coatings.
