It couldn't be easier: how to make a spectacular decorative plaster with a package

Decorative plaster is a stylish, modern and versatile type of interior decoration. It is suitable for almost all rooms, has many textures and can be painted in any color. But decorative plaster is not at all as complicated as it seems. Today we will tell you about the simplest way of applying it, which even a person without construction skills can do.

What is good about decorative plaster

The main advantages of this type of coating include low cost, the ability to hide uneven surface defects, as well as the versatility of application. Decorative plaster adheres well to drywall, brick, wood materials and metal surfaces. Plus, it is durable, wear resistant and easy to clean.

What is necessary

From materials and inventory you will need: gypsum putty for finishing; container for the preparation of putty; construction mixer or drill with a nozzle for stirring solutions; steel spatula "front" 250 mm wide; steel spatula "spatula" (100 mm); primer and brush; white or transparent plastic bag. Do not use colored bags, as they can stain the plaster.

How to make

The process of applying decorative plaster in a package is extremely simple. But before starting work, you must first prime the surface in two layers. The primer, firstly, will remove dust from the base and fill in microcracks; secondly, it will enhance the adhesion of the applied layer to the surface.

When the primer is dry, you can start applying the putty. First, dilute the solution with water according to the manufacturer's instructions. You should get a liquid elastic composition, in consistency reminiscent of thick sour cream.

Next, proceed with applying the composition to the wall. A small spatula is necessary in order to take putty from a bucket, since a large one simply will not fit in there. Using a small spatula, evenly apply a layer of putty on the blade of a large spatula, and then apply it to the wall with smooth movements. Smooth out any unevenness with a spatula. As a result, a uniform layer of putty 5 mm thick should be obtained on the wall.

When there is 4–6 square meters of surface under the putty, start forming the structure. To do this, crumple the bag and lightly press down the damp putty with this lump so that the solution sticks to the cellophane, and then abruptly but carefully tear the crumpled bag off the surface. The adhered solution under the influence of cellophane will take the form of numerous bizarre bumps.

With the help of these simple actions, an attractive texture will be formed, which, after drying, must be primed and painted in any color.
