Ten years ago we moved from a city apartment to a country cottage. They dreamed of leaving the city for a long time, but then the children had to be raised, then the work kept them. Now these problems are a thing of the past, the children found second halves and parted, and my husband and I fulfilled our old dream - we moved closer to nature.

Our village is located ten kilometers from the city limits. The places here are very beautiful: around the fields, woods, lakes. Air, as they say, even if you cut it and eat it. Here we found a new life. Now we have regular bike rides, hikes for mushrooms and berries, fishing and just enjoying nature. At first there was a state of complete happiness. But it turned out that it was not for long.

The road of "death"

Our village was not densely populated. Affected by remoteness, lack of infrastructure and a normal road. In general, the wilderness. But they paid attention to our picturesque wilderness, and an asphalt road was built into the village. The road was followed by people who quickly bought up the surrounding fields for cottage development. Well, at first we were delighted, we thought that now there will be chain stores, good lighting, sidewalks. This came over time, but with a sharp increase in the number of residents, serious problems arose.

The fact is that a thousand households that had formed in 3-4 years began to litter in the district. That is, at the beginning, when there was active development, all the neighborhoods were littered with construction waste. Everything unnecessary was taken out to fields and forests. And this was taken out not only by cars, but also by trucks. There is garbage left after the construction - in the forest! People think that this is the cheapest way to get rid of unnecessary junk.

Then it got worse. Once a week we have a car that collects trash. People put it in bags and sacks on the road, and utility workers collect it. Only household waste is taken. Several bags of garbage accumulate in each yard every week. To store it, you need boxes or special boxes. So, not everyone wants to store garbage in their yard for a whole week. In the summer, he begins to emit unpleasant odors that spread to the entire district; flocks of flies gather around the containers.

And therefore, household waste began to be thrown out in the vicinity. Many have already got into the habit of driving 300–500 meters towards the forest and throwing out the trash before leaving for work. So that the house does not stink! Just throw the bags off the road and that's it! Dogs and wild animals tear up garbage bags and their contents are blown across the area. Garbage winds, so to speak.

Naturally, those who were not indifferent noticed this and complained to the administration. The mountains of garbage were removed from the country roads and it all stopped for a while. But not for long. Garbage was no longer thrown away by the roads, and they began to be brought further into the field or into the forest. In the end, they dirtied everything! If earlier you could just walk, enjoying nature, now all the woods and fields are littered with garbage. Around plastic bottles, glasses, bags, packaging and other waste. In general, nature has turned into a trash heap.

The administration cannot help much - they are digging country roads to restrict access to forests and lakes, but this is a half-measure that does not really help. All other measures cost money, which is not there, and they cannot make them pay for it. The problem is being solved, but very slowly - a lot of approvals and other bureaucracy. Garbage containers are slowly appearing on the streets, but there are few of them and they quickly turn into mountains of bags, because everyone uses them. Moreover, it even comes to fights - those living nearby protect their trash cans from strangers.
