How best to arrange a hearth in the garden - buy or build from scrap materials - my thoughts on this

When the house is built, it comes to improving the site. I really want to have a normal hearth in which you can burn a fire just for pleasure, and fry kebabs, and hang a cauldron.

For now, for this purpose, we use two stacks of bricks, between which we kindle a fire. By the way, this is quite functional and, it seems, suits us very much. In any case, this disorder does not affect the taste of the dishes.

But, of course, I want some kind of aesthetics, so that it is not only tasty, but also beautiful.

Our friends have a brick fireplace. This is also not bad, all functionality is taken into account.
Of course, since friends have such a hearth, then I want something different. And I decided to stop by the home goods hypermarket, see what is offered for this case in this fashionable store. After all, there are always the latest trends in summer cottage fashion.

But here I was disappointed - there were only three hearths. Moreover, the prices are simply incredible.

The hearth with openwork walls in the form of oak leaves is, of course, beautiful. But to give almost 9000 rubles for this beauty - thank you. Moreover, it's just a fireplace, you can't put a barbecue or skewers on it.

The second is even worse - just a steel bowl. And the metal is not that thick, it seems to me that it will quickly burn out. Still in the background of the photo there is a hearth with a nozzle for a cauldron, but it costs more than 10,000 rubles, I didn't even take a photo of it!

In short, I decided that I would nevertheless make a beautiful hearth out of brick. Moreover, there are a lot of schemes on the Internet.

But what worries me is why things are so expensive that cannot change the quality of our life. It's just, in the language of our youth - show-off. The usual show-off, which should show off the guests. The fact that I put the cauldron not on a hook over the fire, but over the hearth for 10,000 rubles, will not make my pilaf tastier. But, of course, it's beautiful ...

So I return again to my favorite topic - we are simply zombified by trade and advertising, imposing "consumer" instincts on us. "Throw out the old, buy the new." Why is this new if it does not improve my life?

Maybe someone will call it grumbling, but I am sure that you need to live within your means and not deal with pouring from empty to empty. After all, it turns out - first we spend our lives making money with hard work, and then with this money we buy nonsense.

How do you feel about such expensive, but not very necessary things?
