The advice of my mother-in-law, a wonderful housewife, helped me to strictly dose fats without weights and get rid of germs.
Treat your mother-in-law as you wish, and I love mine very much. To bring up such a wonderful guy like my husband, only such a wonderful woman could. Therefore, I treat her with great respect and often consult her on various issues. And she sometimes calls me and asks how to do some things, asks for advice. That is, I hope our respect and sympathy are completely mutual.
And here are the little tricks she instilled in me. These are just little things, very useful, but I did not think of them myself.
Tip 1
I have plastic cutting boards and I find them more hygienic than wooden ones. But they have a drawback - they slide on the table top.
Once she saw me constantly push the sliding board towards me, my mother-in-law told me that I was suffering in vain. She took a paper towel, wet it and put it under my board. She stopped sliding! Likewise, a damp cloth towel helps if someone does not use paper towels.
Tip 2
Maybe it's age, or just life taught me, but now I always have a stock of 1-2 kilograms of cereals, pasta, flour and so on in my closet. But once in the semolina, I brought home a food moth, barely brought it out. And now all the time I am afraid that this horror will repeat itself. But you can scare off this pest if you spread ground cloves in paper bags with perforation or in fabric bags in the middle of cereals. This is an easy way, only you need to change them every six months.
Tip 3
Somehow, at the dacha, we did not have a funnel, but we had to pour wine from one bottle to another. When I was about to risk the “precious drink,” my mother-in-law showed me how to instantly make a foil funnel.
This is a very simple way to avoid staining the table or spilling any drinks or loose substances.
It turned out great!
Tip 4
Do you know where I am now starting my morning? I take a dish sponge, moisten it with detergent and lather it up a little. And then I put it in the microwave for 1 minute.
All microbes that multiplied in the sponge overnight die from such treatment. And I calmly wash the dishes. Thus, it turns out hygienically and very economically, because before I changed the sponges after 3 days, because I was afraid that they had a lot of bacteria. And my fears are not in vain.
This advice is absolutely ingenious and I hasten to share it with everyone who loves cleanliness in the kitchen and is squeamish about dish sponges.
Tip 5
Another great trick to avoid pouring a lot of vegetable oil into your salad. Now I always have a small bottle of vegetable oil - linseed or olive oil, onto which a regular spray is screwed. From it, oil on the salad can be sprayed several times less, which is economical and beneficial for health. And it is distributed, of course, more evenly.
Try to apply these tips and remember with gratitude my mother-in-law Galina Nikolaevna.
