Why start a large garden and vegetable garden, if then there is nowhere to put the harvest, I asked my parents

My mom and dad love their dacha very much. As far back as I can remember, they always spent their time there. If we went to the sea, or to a sanatorium, then they were sad and in a hurry, even for a day, but to leave earlier in order to find themselves in their garden as soon as possible. They have a well-groomed, large, and with age they have not at all reduced the number of beds and even planted new trees. They argue that the family has grown, because I have a husband and children, my brother also has a girlfriend.

But we still don't eat everything that grows in the old garden. Every year apples and plums end up in buckets in the compost heap, because we don't have time to process them, and they rot. Acquaintances also refuse to harvest, everyone has their own, and it is easier for someone to buy in a store than to be lucky from the dacha.

I persuade mom and dad to plant as little as possible, including vegetables - cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers. After all, they need constant care, and the strength is not the same. Although, when I compare my tanned, cheerful parents with those elderly people who live in the city, I understand that the dacha gives them not only fatigue, but also real health.

Dad always tells us not to buy vegetables in the store, he tries to grow them as early as possible so that his children and grandchildren eat natural, not chemical products.

Since July, mom has been harvesting, moreover, recently she has been freezing and drying fruits and vegetables more so as not to use preservatives. Although it rolls a lot, we also do not eat it.

I often carry her jars to work, everything goes away quickly there. And then I tell her how colleagues admire caviar, tomatoes or salad. I know how pleased she is. She remembers everyone who loves her colleagues more and gives me another jar "for Lyudochka, because she likes these tomatoes so much."

That's all well and good, but nevertheless, I don’t know how to convince my parents to cut back on plantings. We are so busy at work that we can no longer help them, we get out to help only at large events. Dig up potatoes, spud. And from this a little conscience torments.

But they themselves do not call us very much, they like to work at their own pace.

I would like them to do only the simplest work, and leave what is difficult for them. In the end, you can buy potatoes from local residents, they are also without chemicals, quite environmentally friendly.

How to make the elderly change, maybe someone will advise?
