Should we feed the builders who work on our site, or should they solve their everyday problems themselves?

A year ago, we moved from a provincial town to our house, which is located in a village. The history of our move from city to village lasted 5 years - that's how long we built a new house. Our family consists of three people, our son is a student. The eldest daughter and her family live separately in a neighboring town.

On the channel, we tell stories about our village life, reflect on things that are important to us.

Having left the city, we faced a considerable number of new tasks, which we solve with pleasure and we know that we are doing everything only for ourselves, and not for an apartment building!

Many people today dream of leaving the city and living closer to nature. But in order to decide on this, you need to provide yourself with conditions that are no worse and even better than in a city apartment.

Tomorrow we will start construction again - two builders will come to dig a trench for the bathhouse foundation. And I have a headache again, which has been going on for 5 years, how do we hire people - how to build relationships with these people? Should they be fed, given food, or should they be prepared to dine at the facility themselves?

Of course, for 5 years I have made a decision for myself unequivocally - I will not feed anyone. Once, while still at the apartment, our windows were changed. It was a long time ago, when plastic windows were just being installed. To be honest, these were the first workers who did something in our apartment, the first strangers. The husband used to always do everything himself.

And then a team of 4 installers arrived, they made windows for more than 14 hours in a 4-room apartment. I cooked borscht, made a stew and fed the whole team, and then gave tea to it. They thanked us, everything seemed to be warm and friendly. But the door to the balcony was ruined, and she kept fooling around, no matter how much it was regulated. And the windows were not installed in the best way.

Soon thereafter, we began to constantly hire workers - for example, we changed all the doors in the apartment, ceilings, and so on. But I didn’t feed anyone, the most I could do was warmed up the kettle.

And when they began to build a house, they did without me at all, because I was at the construction site only when my husband was not there. He always thought of active construction for his vacation and was present there every day from morning to evening. Perhaps, thanks to this, our house was built more or less qualitatively, without jambs.

But now we are living in the house and at the same time finishing work is in progress. And feeding the builders again became a fad for me.

The Tajiks who worked for us did not ask for anything at all, except for boiling water. But I brought vegetables from the garden or from the cellar, gave them, and they cooked in the apartment where they lived, something of their own. In a 14-hour workday, they only eat once. And they drink tea once. The rest of the time they work without stopping. I even felt sorry for them at times. But when they started to pay, they all the time strove to cheat, then with the footage, then with the square. And he this all the warm feelings for them disappeared.

Therefore, my decision is unambiguous - a strict distance, no treats and personal conversations. This does not lead to good - checked. And those who are seriously engaged in construction know that no one will cook lunch and dinner for them, so they decide such issues themselves.
