How to make a powerful all-purpose adhesive at home: a useful life hack
You don't have to buy glue, you can make it at home. Today we will introduce you to the recipe with which you can prepare an inexpensive but extremely effective universal adhesive. It is suitable for gluing wood and wood materials, plastic, leather, fabric, and even metal. Read about it further.
What is needed for this?
Of the components required: solvent 647; Styrofoam; any nitro paint; small sawdust; metal shavings fine as sand; baking soda. All of these components are readily available and can be found easily. The problem can only arise with metal shavings. If you need a small amount of glue, then you can work a little with a file. But if you need a lot of glue, you will have to contact a familiar turner and milling machine - they have this stuff in bulk. In extreme cases, metal shavings can be bought from advertisements: it is sold everywhere - it costs a penny.
How to do it?
First you need to find a container in which the composition will be prepared. Any glass, plastic or metal jar will do. Consider the proportions in the preparation of 150 milliliters of glue. Pour 100 ml of solvent into a jar and dissolve pieces of foam in it. The foam must be added until the composition becomes like oil paint in consistency.
Next, add 40 grams of nitro paint to the composition and mix very thoroughly. After that, you need to add metal and wood shavings. You can take a tablespoon for measurement. That is, add one tablespoon of sawdust and one tablespoon of metal. Mix everything again until smooth. The final step is to add one teaspoon of baking soda. The composition is mixed again and the glue is ready!
How to use this glue?
You need to use this glue in the same way as with ordinary glue. That is, remove dust and degrease the surfaces to be glued. Then apply the glue in a thin layer, connect the parts / materials to be glued and press down. This glue sets very quickly, practically in 5-10 minutes, but it is better to use the glued parts in 3-5 hours.
Important! This glue is not stored for a long time, as it hardens quickly. It must be made strictly in the required amount and used immediately. You will not be able to stock up on them for future use. Yes, there is no need for this, since in the presence of all the components, the composition is prepared within 7-10 minutes.
