And you won't have to cut! I tell you how to unfasten any tie-clamp
Sometimes it happens that the plastic cable tie is tightened in the wrong place. In this case, it seems that there is only one way out - to cut! Cutting is not a problem. But if the clamp was the last one, then you have to go to the store because of this trifle and, therefore, waste time. To avoid this, Andrey, a member of our forum, will tell and show you how to open a plastic tie.
A toothpick to help!
Once I was hanging a chandelier and it was necessary to shorten the wire by folding it three times and fixing it with ties. Usually, if the luminaire's wire is too long, it is better to fold it and fix it on plastic clamps - so you don't have to cut it. There were only three thin ties at hand - everything, as they say, was calculated. The first tightened, but not there! I think I'll have to cut.
But laziness before going to the store, and walking at least two kilometers to it, made me open the Internet and look for how to unbutton this tie. As a result, I found a very simple way that I always use now. Everything is very easy. The clamp-tie is a tape with teeth and a lock, in which the tongue (latch) does not allow this tape to move in the direction opposite to tightening.
All you need is a toothpick, knife or thin screwdriver to squeeze the tongue (lock), pull out the tape, and thus unfasten the tie. I had a toothpick on my table, which I used. The job is done - the clamp is open and can be reused! So simple, but sometimes extremely necessary life hack.

Tie clamps are used not only for their intended purpose. They also help in other matters. For example, my hanging hanger, which was screwed to a wooden wall, was loose. Either the wood cracked, or the self-tapping screws did their job under load - the holes became larger and the fasteners no longer held so securely.
So I just unscrewed the screws, inserted a piece of the clamp into the hole with the teeth to the wood (important!) And screwed the hardware back. I cut off the excess and the problem was solved on this. That is, if you need to screw a screw or self-tapping screw into a hole whose diameter is larger than the fastener, use a piece of tie, as shown in the photo.
