Ventilation ducts inside the wall: Who invented this? I did not complicate the laying of walls, and I do not advise anyone.

There are necessary solutions in construction, but there are real "perversions". Especially when they begin to transfer ideas of some technologies to others, at the same time complicate everything at times, but rejoice at the result (which could have been obtained in an easier way). And I understand if this self-builder is experimenting, because professionals also love to smell ...

Friends, everyone is a huge hello. I do not really like to criticize other people's decisions in construction (I have not yet grown to such a level). But if I discuss this with you, then perhaps I will understand something new for myself, and it will become calmer in my soul πŸ€—.

Here I was hooked on the issue of ventilation in a private house.

This topic is very extensive (needed, not needed, what kind, quantity, etc ...), but I was interested in one unusual thing.

At the beginning of my career as a self-builder 😎, I came across such an interesting solution:

Then ventilation pipes are inserted into these holes (the image is taken for clarity from "Yandex pictures").

Ventilation pipes built into aerated concrete wall ...

And the further I build my house, and accordingly study the information, the more I come across such options for laying ventilation channels.

But I sincerely do not understand, why torture myself and the materials so much ???

I have already gone the way of laying walls made of aerated concrete and I know what it is.

It was enough for me to saw the grooves for reinforcement, sawing blocks to size (there were a lot on the armopoyas), and so on... And then there is also a hole to drill in each row for these pipes??? Well, I do not...

Even if you do not do the work yourself, then surely all these manipulations will lead to a significant increase in the cost of masonry.
  • If you really want to walled up everything in the walls, then there are solutions and easier:

βœ… Expanded clay, brick, and the same aerated concrete (but in a smaller format).

You make the shape you need and you're done ...
You make the shape you need and you're done ...

But it seems to me that this is unnecessary ...

I understand ventilation ducts in high-rise buildings. But if you take the majority of private houses, then this is a maximum of one or two floors. And ventilation can be organized in simpler ways.

  • For example supply and exhaust through walls. Cheap, simple equipment and easy installation that can be done at any time.
  • Well, if you want a natural ventilation option, then the same pipes can be laid outside the wall and simply masked with finishing (drywall and not that can hide).

- Easier installation.

- Possibilities for adjustments.

- Availability and maintainability.

This is my opinion on it ...

Friends, I am waiting for your opinion in the comments. Perhaps there are some nuances that I have not written about, and that change everything ...
