Friends, everyone is a huge hello. Of course, you can immediately make a reservation that such situations occur mainly due to lack of experience. And during the entire construction of my house, I have come across this more than once ...

• When you evaluate the foundation only by the cost of concrete and reinforcement (without formwork, sand and crushed stone on the pillow, drainage, etc.).
• Walls are only aerated concrete (without glue, armored belts, foam, etc.).
• And the roof consists only of metal tiles (why do I need self-tapping screws, waterproofing, additional elements, etc. ...).

Someone may think this is funny, but that's how it was. It would seem that you need to learn something already, but it was not there.

I decided to put the oven ...

It costs 25,000 rubles, the price is fine. So what else is needed there? Take the chimney into the bargain. See how much it costs??? And we are terrified 🤦‍♂️.

The best option for a sandwich pipe, made of a good grade stainless steel (AISI 304), of normal thickness (0.8 mm), one meter long costs 5-6 thousand. R. to this there are still different corner and transition elements that stand the same.

And in order for me to assemble the necessary structure, will have to spend about 40-45 thousand. R. It turns out that I will take the stove in addition to the chimney, and not vice versa ...

We are looking for a way to save money.

And first you need to sensibly assess the situation. In what conditions will the chimney be operated?

✔ If the chimney is installed on a gas boiler or stove, which will be heated around the clock and without stopping, then there will most likely not be a chance to save money.

✔ If this is a sandwich for a summer residence, or a bath, in which the furnace is heated once a month, then there is no point in bothering at all: the outside is galvanized, the inner pipe is stainless steel AISI 430 (budget steel), thickness 0.5 mm. Everything will come out not even very expensive.

✅ I came out with an average version.

At the moment, the house is under construction, and it will be heated several times a week. In the future, I plan to use it together with electric convectors, and not in constant mode.

Here I made a choice in favor of stainless steel both outside and inside a sandwich, 0.5 mm thick., Brands AISI 439 (this option is also not expensive, but more heat and acid resistant). The starting chimney was single-walled, 0.8 mm thick (it will still heat up the most).

Thus, 25,000 rubles were also spent on the chimney. Below is no way. And at the same time, my choice is far from ideal, and I do not know how long it will last.

On the other hand, it is not known is there a real difference between expensive and cheap chimneys already in use?
