I always dreamed of a terrace, but I realized that a separate gazebo is much better. Several reasons that you cannot immediately think of.
In modern house designs, a terrace is becoming a very common attribute, and gazebos are a thing of the past... But it seems to me that most people act on the principle of the "crowd", without thinking about the practical points.
Friends, a big hello to everyone. One of the main reasons for choosing life in a private house is the closeness to nature (well at least that's the way for me).
It seems that you have housing with all the amenities, but you took a step and you are right in nature ...
And the terrace here is such a transitional stage.
It seems that you are sitting on a comfortable sofa in your house, drinking tea, but at the same time a fresh breeze is blowing and the birds are singing ...
Of course I also wanted to sit and enjoy ...
But some nuances have surfaced ...
Behind all this beauty and emotions, I don't really want to look at some dry facts and practical moments. But I, as a person who builds a house with his own hands, cannot relax so much ...
How to combine everything with home? There are two options here:
✔ Unified foundation and structure.
When the terrace is part of the house from the very beginning, then you need to count on the fact that the costs of the foundation and the roof will be much higher. At the same time, we get a not very often exploited part of the house.
At the same time, the area of the house increases, and with it the tax on it.
Yes, at check-in, the terrace fits into the overall living space. The porch, for example, is not ...
✔ Should you add a terrace later?
This can be difficult to maintain a single design. When the terrace and the house have different foundations, then they will live their own lives (especially noticeable over time).
✔ Do not forget about fire safety.
After all, we all want to put a barbecue, grill, or a whole summer kitchen. And making fires near your home is not the best idea, even if you are sure that everything is under control.
And looking at all this, you remember the good old gazebo.
- You can build any structure, even with glazing, even without.
- On the foundation, you especially need to bother.
- Barbecue grills, all away from home.
- You don't need to register anything and pay taxes.
- You can build it at any time.
✔ The only negative is that you need to go through a few extra steps ...
But it seems to me that these are quite trifles. So, for myself, I am already deciding on the location of the gazebo, and put the thoughts of the terrace far away.
Although, first, you need to finish building the house... 😎
