A new hypersonic missile "Larchinka MD" is being developed in Russia
Another hypersonic weapon system is under development in the Russian Federation. At the same time, the development takes place within the framework of the development work (ROC) "Larva MD".
At the moment, the product is at the stage of prototyping and flight tests have not yet been carried out. Most likely, the new hypersonic missile will be designed for the SU-57 stealth fighters. Izvestia became aware of the development.
New supersonic missile for Russia
So, according to the documentation (Izvestia has it), the second stage of the Lichinka MD ROC began back in 2019, and The main developer of the domestic novelty is Tactical Missile Armament Corporation.
At the same time, the new rocket will most likely use an engine, which is simply called "product 70 ", which is developed by representatives of the Turaevsky Machine-Building Design Bureau "Union". It is just that they specialize in the development of power plants for such supersonic missiles.
At the moment, the new rocket is undergoing a whole range of ground tests, and work is also underway with weight and size models.
At the same time, according to experts, the rocket will fit completely in the internal compartments of the SU-57.
It is assumed that the "Larva MD" will be a replacement for anti-ship ammunition, and its flight range will be able to reach a couple of hundred kilometers. And, most likely, the new development will replace the Kh-31 missile, which was developed back in the 1980s by Soviet military engineers.
There is also an assumption that the speed of the new rocket will exceed the speed of sound by at least five times, which means that the existing defense systems will simply be unable to withstand the new missile.
Also that the development of the so-called "smart" ammunition is being carried out in the Russian Federation, it became known from the message of the general director of KTRV B. Obnosov, which sounded at the International Maritime Defense Show held this year in St. Petersburg.
