Champagne cork ideas
Before your hand goes up to toss a wine or champagne cork in the trash, stop! Think a little and, perhaps, an unpretentious idea on the use of this interesting contraption will appear in your bright head. It can be used, for example, to make a non-breakable handle for a lid on a saucepan. And if you still fix it on the side with a self-tapping screw, then it will serve a lot. Only the self-tapping screw should be screwed a little deeper than the surface, so as not to burn your fingers about it someday.
By installing the cork into the lid of an empty plastic jar from the inside, we will get an excellent needle holder. Only the jar must be chosen higher so that the needles enter it in height. The needles in it will never get lost and stick in where they don't need to.
Six knitting or bicycle knitting needles and 9 champagne caps make a stable stand for a hot pot or frying pan. Even if the stand falls on your leg, it certainly won't hurt, so you can hang it somewhere in the kitchen.
A little imagination and a grinding drum will turn out from the cork, on which you can glue sandpaper of any grain size. Better to glue with super glue. Double-sided tape will not help in this case, since the nozzle will simply fly off at high speed. We make the axis on the drum from a thin long bolt, thread it through the prepared hole and clamp it with a nut.
Another great use for cork is making a key ring. Your keys will definitely not sink with it. Inside the cork, you can insert a zipper handle with rings at the end and, like on a lid, fix it from the side through the hole with a small self-tapping screw.
By cutting the cork into circles 5-7 mm thick and gluing them with second glue randomly on paper or plastic, we get a tablet for notes, on which you can use colored paper to pin the paper buttons. Older children will definitely appreciate the benefits of such a device and will less forget what their parents ask for.
To prevent the legs of chairs and stools from abrading the floor covering, you can glue mugs made of cut cork on them. Although the circle is thin, it serves for a long time, and it is not difficult to replace it, on occasion. And a chair with such a backing moves very quietly on the floor.
A handle broken on old furniture can also be made from cork. To do this, insert a self-tapping screw on the back of the door and screw it into the half of the cork until it rests against the door. The self-tapping screw screwed in this way holds firmly, so the improvised handle will not fall off.
To get a stand for a smartphone or tablet, you need 2 plugs and 2 toothpicks. By connecting the plugs with toothpicks as in the picture and making slots in them, we get a light and stable stand for the device. The beauty!
Cut spice packs can be closed with cork clips. To make such a clamp, you need to cut off the circle of the cork and then make a cut around the circumference approximately to the center. In this slot we insert the open edge of the packaging of spices or seasonings.
And these are just some ideas, and then you can come up with your own and share your findings in the comments.
