How to heat a conventional stove with a waste: a simple, cheap and effective way of heating
There are several designs of waste oil furnaces. Despite their effectiveness, they are all quite complex to manufacture and costly - for injection air, you need to buy an electric fan, and a lot of metal is required to make the correct unit. But it turns out that an ordinary potbelly stove, which heats a garage or greenhouse, can also be adapted for mining. How to do it - read on.
How to heat an ordinary furnace with a working off?
To do this, you need to make a metal bath. Its size is not regulated and is an individual size - the main condition for it to fit in the firebox of your stove. If we start from the volume of the container, then this is approximately 5–8 liters. A handle can be welded onto one side of this tray to make it easier to use.
Pour dry building sand into this ⅔ volumetric bath, fill it with working sand (about 2-3 liters) and mix well. You should get a thick mixture. In this mixture, the role of fuel is played by mining, and the sand serves as a kind of wick that maximizes the burning time of the oil.
Next, you need to ignite the mixture. To do this, you need to stick a few chips soaked in kerosene into it; then place the bath in the firebox and set fire to the chips. Working off burns by itself (no wood) and gives a good steady heat. Average consumption of 0.8-1 liter of fuel per hour. That is, if you fill in 3 liters of oil, then it will burn for 3-4 hours.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Waste Oil as Fuel
- The main advantage is the relative cheapness of the method, especially if there is a place to get working off. This fuel is used by the owners of car services and those who have several units of transport. For these purposes, many buy working off at 2–5 rubles per liter.
- The disadvantage is that this fuel is not suitable for all stoves. Rather, you can heat any stove with it, but problems with the chimney may arise. This method is ideal for stoves with a straight-through pipe, but the chimney of conventional stoves from such fuel clogs much faster.
