How much firewood costs after the price increase for wood, I don’t want to heat the bathhouse
With the approach of winter, the preparation of firewood, which we will need to heat the chicken coop and for the bathhouse, becomes more and more urgent. Of course, this is not a very large volume, but it is required in any case. I heat the chicken coop once every 3 days, while on the stove I cook vegetables in it and make a mash of crushed grain out of them. This is the basis for the nutrition of our chickens. The whole grain is in addition to this.
We heat the bathhouse once a week, sometimes more often. But we have it old, so we have to heat up a lot. The construction of a new bath is in the near future.
This spring we bought a car of chopped firewood. The price was 6,500 rubles. Spruce and aspen, dry, ringing logs. Of course, no fuss with them - put them from a heap into a woodpile and that's it. But, in my opinion, there are no advertised 5 cubes there. Maximum 4 - 4.5 cubes. Very expensive. While of course sawing and splitting firewood is included in the price, it is not that cheap. Now a car of firewood costs 7,500 rubles, and birch - 8,500 rubles. That is, in six months the price has grown by a thousand.
Therefore, this year we decided to order firewood from the leshoz. We were ready for an increase in prices for timber, and this is what actually happened with them. Firewood has also risen in price. In addition, they did not promise to bring them to us right away, they only put them in the queue. Moreover, if earlier it was possible for regular customers to sign up in a queue by phone, and pay at home, giving money to a tractor driver, now there is no such benefit. You need to go and pay for the purchase in advance, like everyone else. And we went to the forestry.
There are two lines there. The first stage is for a simple slab, slats and other trimmings from a Christmas tree and pine. The price per bundle is 2200 rubles. There are 2 cubes in a bundle. The lath is generally shallow, such firewood is not very good, it burns quickly, and the heat is low.
The second stage is for a birch croaker. It is more expensive, the price per bundle is 2700 rubles. In addition, the birch croaker is larger, good firewood is obtained from it. You have to wait about two to three weeks.
But when they brought it, we realized that we hadn't waited in vain, we liked the birch. A good pile of wood was cut out of it.
There is one more option - private traders carry substandard birch chocks. How to deal with them is unclear. Splitting such wood is not so easy, and moving them - you need remarkable strength and a healthy back. We looked at our friends and decided that such a pleasure is not for us. They, too, regretted having contacted such a miracle. It turns out - there is firewood, but there is nothing to heat. But the price of such a lump is serious - 1500 per cubic meter.
So they are tormented until they have coped with thinner chunks, and the thickest are lying, waiting for a heroic strength. When they are still dry and become at least a little lighter, it is not known. Probably closer to spring.
Thus, summing up, we can say that the birch croaker is the most optimal option for firewood. Although you will have to spend money on gasoline, chains and spend a lot of time, but the firewood is good, high-quality. There are both thinner and thicker, for all occasions. They give a lot of heat and birch woods look fun, they smell good.
