10 simple tips to help you keep your home warm and keep money in your pocket

To maintain a comfortable temperature in the house and at the same time not spend extra money on heating, you need to rely not only on heating equipment, but also to take additional measures. And it's not about additional wall insulation, but about simpler techniques:

1. Window frames and doors must be gap-free. Cold air enters the house through the cracks, it is necessary to heat the house more, which means that the costs will be higher. Seal the cracks with sealant or paper (paper tape).

2. It is worth spreading a thick carpet in front of the entrance doors. Even a blanket or thick fabric will do. It will prevent the flow of cold air from the street.

3. Carpets on the floors and even on the walls in the rooms will serve as additional insulation and will save you a good amount over the winter.

4. Open the curtains on sunny days. Even tulle. The sun will raise the temperature in the house by a couple of degrees. And in the evening, the windows should always be closed with thick curtains so that the heat does not escape through the cold window.

5. Steam builds up when you take a bath. Use it to your advantage. After bathing, open the door wide open so that warm air from the bathroom enters the house and warms the neighboring rooms.

6. The same should be done in the kitchen. Leave the oven doors open after cooking in the oven. Let the accumulated heat circulate through the rooms and warm the air in the house. Open the doors from the kitchen to other rooms as much as possible while cooking on the stove or in the oven.

7. Do not obstruct batteries. Make sure that the warm air is not obstructed by curtains or furniture.

8. In winter, you can close the ventilation openings. If they are closed, then warm air will not escape through them.

9. In order for the warm air to circulate better in the room, you can put a fan and direct it upwards towards the ceiling. So warm air will not accumulate from above, but will be dispersed throughout the room.

10. Place foil shields behind the batteries. They were invented specifically so that heat is directed only to the room. Important: foil shields must not touch radiators.
