How to make an anti-freeze water supply system in the country?

At the dacha everything is always good when it is warm there. It is both comfortable, and communications do not freeze. But in winter the situation changes. Many leave to live in the city, and the dacha remains empty. In frosts, pipes freeze and burst. Therefore, you need to take care of the plumbing in advance.

If you are not afraid of heating costs in the winter season, and you are ready to keep warm at the dacha all the time, everything will be fine. There will be no problems. But it's not cheap at all.

You can use a heating cable to keep the water pipes from freezing, but it will have to be used all winter, and if the electricity is turned off for at least a day, the whole plan will go down the drain.

This means that we need a water supply system that does not require heating, can be easily turned off and on, and is not afraid of freezing. It turned out that finding a solution to all these problems is as easy as shelling pears. An important point was the ability to quickly drain water from the system and pump it there. Such a plumbing will not need heating or electricity.

The non-freezing water supply circuit has the following features:

1. The location of the pump is under water below the freezing level. If you have a well, this problem will not overtake you. If there is a well, then submersible pumps can be used, but it should not get into the freezing zone. Otherwise, it will be necessary to insulate the well. It is best to bring a heating cable to the pump in order to defrost in case of freezing. The water pipe from the well must be laid below the soil freezing depth for the region. At the entrance of the pipe into the room, a heating cable can be put into it, just in case.

2. To prevent the pipeline from freezing in the house, you need to be able to easily and quickly drain the water. Starting the installation of the pipeline, you need to select the lowest starting point and put a valve here to drain the fluid from the system into the sewer. From this point it is necessary to distribute the pipes further with a constant upward slope. For water to drain through the water supply system, a slope of only three degrees will be enough. The main thing is to prevent up and down drops, in which the water can stagnate.

3. It is necessary to drain the remaining liquid into the well, bypassing the check valve. In parallel with the check valve, it is necessary to make a faucet that will drain the remaining water into the well so that they do not freeze the check valve and break it.

4. You also need to put the expansion tank in a vertical position and install a pressure switch with a pressure gauge.

Now, upon arrival at the dacha, it remains to start the pump and use the water, and when leaving it will be necessary to drain the water. To do this, you will have to disconnect the heating cable at the input, turn off the pump and open the drain into the sewer. After a couple of minutes, you need to open the drain into the well, and after another 5 minutes, close all the taps. As a result, there will be no water left in the system and it will not freeze.
