My wife dreamed of a robot vacuum cleaner. We bought it. Two months later

For a long time we looked at the robot vacuum cleaner. But they were too biting for the price. And there were few reviews on inexpensive models.

We live in our home on earth. The room is like a three-room apartment. But there is one big difference from the apartment, not for the better. Too much dust and dirt is brought into the house from the garden and the workshop, which is located in the annex to the house and serves as a canopy.

Two cats live in the house and sometimes it seems that their molting does not stop for a minute. Vacuuming an apartment every day is rather troublesome. Considering that work, cooking, etc. no one canceled, the constant carrying of the vacuum cleaner did not please, but rather infuriated.

Therefore, at some point we decided to buy a robot vacuum cleaner. We bought a model from the Redmod brand (REDMOND RV-R270). There was a good discount on it then. We have a multicooker of the same brand.

We have been using the vacuum cleaner for two months already. The opinion is purely subjective.

I'll tell you right away. The wife is very happy with the robot vacuum cleaner. However, there are pros and cons to this model.

To begin with, I want to say that you should not expect that a robot vacuum cleaner will replace a regular vacuum cleaner. Perhaps this is true for expensive models, but for our model it is not.

Its power is small. It's more like an electric broom. If you need to quickly clean the room, then a regular powerful vacuum cleaner will do it faster and better.

"Then why buy a robot vacuum cleaner?" - you ask.

The devil, as always, is in the details. The fact is that the robot vacuum cleaner works independently of you. You can relax, work on the computer, or cook or help the children with their homework, while the robot vacuum cleaner industriously hums at this time, for example, in the kitchen.

He does his job efficiently, but much longer than if he vacuumed with an ordinary vacuum cleaner. But it saves a lot of time and effort.

So the pros:

1. Cleans well in corners and along skirting boards. Long brushes contribute to this. By the way, when choosing such a vacuum cleaner, be sure to check that the rotating brushes are significantly extended outside the body. It is important!

Our vacuum cleaner has a perimeter cleaning mode. The wife usually starts cleaning with this regime.

2. When cleaning, dust does not rise into the air. Or it happens in much smaller volumes than when cleaning with a conventional vacuum cleaner.

This moment is very gratifying. Since there are allergy sufferers at home. You start the robot vacuum cleaner into the room, and after its work, just clean the floor. Clouds of dust in the sun's rays do not flutter.

3. The robot vacuum cleaner can crawl onto short pile carpets and overcome obstacles up to 2 cm high.

4. The vacuum cleaner program includes several motion algorithms. We mainly use three: spiral cleaning, perimeter cleaning, automatic cleaning. There is also zigzag cleaning.

In fact, you need to choose a program for your needs and room configuration. In some programs, the vacuum cleaner turns on sensors that detect obstacles and it stops and turns without touching obstacles (walls, table legs or chair, etc.).

5. Such a vacuum cleaner is easy to clean. The container is compact and easy to use.

6. The vacuum cleaner shuts off when it gets stuck. This is very good, since it does not idle and does not drain the battery.

I must say that before starting the vacuum cleaner into the room, it is necessary to remove wires, curtains and everything that can get wrapped around the wheels from the floor. But if you forgot about something and he wrapped himself, for example, in a curtain fabric that was lying on the floor, then the vacuum cleaner will simply turn off and of course there will be a sound signal.

7. In a fully charged state, the vacuum cleaner can work for 2.5 hours. This is more than enough to vacuum the entire apartment.

8. This vacuum cleaner can be used for wet cleaning. But how it is implemented in this vacuum cleaner can rather be attributed to the disadvantages.

Minuses

It also has disadvantages. But they are very arbitrary. And for this price category they are not critical.

1. There is no indication of programs. There is one big MODE button. (The vacuum cleaner is controlled from the remote control) The programs are in order. Once pressed - one program, pressed again - another, etc. It is not always immediately clear which program the vacuum cleaner is running, and from the first program you cannot immediately switch to the fourth. Perhaps this is implemented in more expensive and complex models, alas, not in this one.

2. Small garbage collection container.

This is not particularly frustrating, but you have to clean the container every time after cleaning. But it is very simple to do it.

3. It is necessary to periodically check the brushes, as long hair is often twisted around their rotating element. But this is not difficult to do. The brushes are easy to remove, clean and put on again.

4. Does not suck in large and heavy debris. The slot of the vacuum cleaner is small, as is the suction power. The cleanliness of the floor during the operation of the vacuum cleaner is determined by the multiple passes over the cleaning area. And some large particles of debris may simply not get through the slot of the vacuum cleaner.

However, there is very little such rubbish. If there is one, for example, a twig, a piece of paper, it is easy to pick up and throw it away.

5. Some rubbish is forbidden to be picked up by the robot vacuum cleaner. For example, flour or gypsum plaster. Since these very small particles can penetrate the protection and damage the engine. It is also forbidden to collect water.

6. So, about wet cleaning.

It seems to me that it is more relevant for tiled floors and small rooms. The water container is very small, about a third or a quarter of a glass. Therefore, the water ends in 15 - 20 minutes. Such a vacuum cleaner does not wash the floor, but rather wipes it. Do not use detergents, as the water pipes are very thin and will quickly clog.

We tried this function, but it didn't work for us. After the robot vacuum cleaner, the floor is simply wiped with a mop. On a clean floor it is quick and pleasant to do it.

Now about the carpets

If the carpet is very dirty, then an ordinary powerful vacuum cleaner will help. On the other hand, we often use a robot to clean the carpet in the hallway. We restrict him with stools so that he does not crawl into the kitchen, and he crawls for fifteen minutes in the hallway on the carpet. Quite a good result.

Output:

For our home, a robot vacuum cleaner is an excellent assistant in cleaning an apartment. Saves a lot of time and effort. We do cleaning almost every day.
