The further I move in building a house with my own hands, the more I understand that there are more and more self-builders like me. But building with your own hands is one thing, but at the same time making building materials yourself is already the next level.

Friends, I am glad to welcome you. The topic of the rise in prices for building materials has recently become rather hackneyed. They talk about this at every step (I am no exception 😎, and in my articles I also touched on this), but no one can say what to do with it in the end ...

This is especially true for people like me. I got involved in a construction site, and now I am half way, while money does not fall out of my pockets, everything is quite limited. And it is necessary to finish the matter, and I don’t want to stop at the house. Bathhouse, gazebo, garage, how can we go without it?

You have to put up with reality, and adapt to it.

Along with looking for options on how to increase your income, you are looking for an opportunity to save on construction costs. Apparently because I came across one interesting information.

Not a house with your own hands, but a building material!

I must say right away that I perfectly understand the difference between autoclaved aerated concrete, which is produced in factories (from which my house was built), and foam concrete made in artisanal conditions. The difference in quality can be palpable.

But at the same time, I assess my situation specifically, and I understand that for the construction of some insignificant, secondary buildings (type of garage and bath), foam concrete may do.

Moreover, everything can be done without special equipment.

Of course, installations are being sold specifically for the production of foam concrete, which you bought and only rivet the finished blocks. But their price is from 10,000 to 250,000 rubles. But all this is designed for such a home business, and constant production.

❗ And you can make a couple of buildings using simple tools.

Here I found an example of how to knead in a bucket, using a mixer, and at the same time adding foam. From non-standard, just make a foam generator.

And to build the same walls, you don't have to make separate blocks. You can pour into the formwork, which will further simplify and reduce the cost of work.

Well, what about the savings?

Is all of this really beneficial? You can count on a jump.

In order to make 1 m³ of D600 aerated concrete, you will need:

✔Cement M500 - 320 kg. Found for 420 rubles / 50 kg, in total - 2700 p.

✔ 250 kg of sand. So, we are looking on the Internet: 1 m³ of sand weighs about 1600 kg. In a car, 10 m³ is 16,000 kg. This summer I bought such a car with good sand for 9000 r. This means that 250 kg of sand will cost 140 rubles. taking into account sifting, etc. let's take 150 rubles.

✔ Foamer 1.5 l. sold at 130 rubles per kg. In our case rubles 200 will be.

✔ My water comes from the ground, so we can take some more electricity into account.

✅ In the end, 1 m³ of foam concrete will cost 3050 p. + electricity. Let's take a total of about 3100 rubles.

• At the same time, a tree in my region (Leningrad region) costs about 25,000 per cubic meter.
• The same aerated concrete - 7500 per m³.
• Expanded clay blocks, at about the same price as aerated concrete.

The result is very tempting.

Of course, significant labor costs are added to all this, but I am always ready for this (4 years of self-construction is a confirmation of this).
