We make garden paths from garbage (old rags, carpets, corks, cuts): beautiful, any shape, inexpensive
We recently bought a house in the village. The plot is small (6 acres), but its own. You can now grow potatoes, other vegetables, berries on your land. There is not much land, but I want to improve the site, make garden paths.
There was an idea to use old construction waste and other unnecessary things that remained from the former owners. All the trash was left in a ruined barn, an old bathhouse. You need to take it out or make garden paths.
What's useful for creating tracks? Shards of bricks, concrete, plastic bottles, old rags, carpets, etc.
First you need to dig a trench. The depth is about 15-20 cm. there and fill in fragments of bricks, granite, concrete and other debris. Drizzle with water and tamp. You can fence the path with boards so that everything is level. Sprinkle some sand on top, tamp and then concrete. In this way, you can save on cement. The track will be strong and will serve for many years.
There was an idea to dismantle the old log bathhouse, which was lopsided and is about to fall apart. Cut the cuts from the logs, process them with a burner and lay them like a path. Cuts look beautiful, and there is grass around.
I also heard that you can make paths from expanded clay. But if you cover the paths with them, then over time it will turn into dust. It must be mixed with cement and sand, prepared and poured. Also as an option for saving cement.
Corks from plastic bottles are suitable as a material for tracks. It is easy to lay out a multi-colored mosaic from them. Recently, I began to collect covers.
Perhaps I will make a path in the greenhouse. The caps can be easily removed with a solvent or simply washed off with water and a sponge. A trench is dug, formwork is set up and a 5 cm layer of sand is poured. The path is filled with cement mortar (sand / cement 4: 1). When the solution has set a little, you can press in the corks.
Recently, a neighbor surprised me with an idea. On his site, he made tracks really from trash (garbage). A place is outlined, cleaned, covered with sand and fine gravel. Old rags are soaked in cement mortar. Plastic bottles are filled with them.
Further, the bottles are located along the path. These will be curbs. Connect the bottles with another rag (moistened with solution) so that there are no gaps.
The very (base) of the track is made from an old carpet or carpet. We wet them in the same solution. Then place the pieces of carpet on the ground. Use rags to hold the pieces together and coat with liquid solution on top. Thus, you can make tracks of any shape and without special costs.
