Never understood why on the bases, the tree is stored not according to the rules? Then they bring all this to you, and they also teach you how to lay it.
Where does any house begin? From the foundation, many will say... And I will answer from the construction base. After all, materials and their quality largely depend on what they had to go through before they got into your hands. Especially when it comes to wood.
Anyone who is even a little bit in the topic of construction, then surely know what a construction base is. For all the time that I have been building my house, I have visited more than one such point.
There were also small ones, on a local scale. And bought at large bases, if you need something in large quantities, or exclusive ...
And all of them are remembered for one similarity - the storage of lumber.
In general, the ideal conditions are as follows.
- Smooth surface.
- Cover the soil with something waterproof.
- Laying on gaskets.
- Processing of ends with paint.
- Protection from precipitation.
At the bases where I happened to be, the maximum that was observed was the spacers between the boards. And so the wood just stood in the open air.
And I could not understand in any way why not at least protect everything from above from the sun and precipitation?
As for me, here are the following explanations:
- Well, this is just inconvenient. If you cover something every time, then it will quickly get bored ...
- Expensive. Not every base is ready to invest in a good canopy. Perhaps in some hypermarkets everything is located under awnings, but for sure all these costs will be included in the cost of the material.
- Turnover. While the tree has time to deteriorate, they will take everything apart.
But here you cannot do without exceptions. And then all these crooked and rotten specimens are imperceptibly slipped into an inexperienced buyer.
And then they will also bring you to your site and begin to explain: “You need to put everything on the coasters, put it evenly. And it's better to cover it with a film. " Thank you... And what happened to the boards before that??? (this is how they gave me advice, did not invent it ...).
Friends, how do you look at this attitude, and the work of construction bases (or only I have come across such)? Share in the comments.
