" Plant a tree and you will not pump out the hole" - I have never heard more delirium! How to make a pit so that later you do not call the sewers

I came across several articles on the Internet about what needs to be done in order not to pump out the cesspool for decades. Various options are offered - to use carbide, to plant "correct" trees nearby, which will draw water out of the pit, such as poplar and bird cherry.

I am not against these tips. There is some truth in them. But I still think that everything needs to be done efficiently. And if you do not want to install a septic tank, then make a pit that will work without contaminating the soil and self-cleaning without causing a lot of trouble.

How is a cesspool usually made?

Usually a cesspool is a deep one-section pit, the walls of which are lined with bricks or tires.

In such a pit, household chemicals kill bacteria, the liquid goes into the ground, solid masses clog the cracks, silt accumulates, the volume of the pit decreases, waste eventually accumulates, and the pit fills up quickly.

Rapid filling of the pit occurs, both due to the wrong device of the pit, and for other reasons:

  • high groundwater,
  • insufficient pit volume,
  • clay soil.

I am displeased with such pits. It is clear that I cannot influence anything. But accept too. Everything has already been invented for us, why do something that is impractical and then it will be expensive to maintain?

How to make a cesspool so as not to pump it out every month?

Build a concrete septic tank. It should be with two or three wells - with a concrete bottom and without a bottom. The septic tank should be deep and voluminous.

The first well is for solid waste. Only the toilet is flushed there and bacteria are added. Overflow from it into the second well. Solid waste will settle at the bottom and be processed by bacteria, and water will be poured into a second well. You can also make a separate drain from the kitchen and bathroom into it.

If there are three wells, then from the second well there is an overflow into the third. There is also the drainage of drainage water around the house. From the third well, water can be used for irrigation. In the first well, there will be a minimum of sludge due to bacteria. Don't be stingy. Do everything according to technology.

By the way, I heard that in 2022 they will be fined for cesspools. Do you know anything about this?
