Why do you need a supply ventilation valve in a house or apartment? I was convinced of its necessity on my own experience

Everyone understands that the house needs ventilation. And not only in the kitchen and in the bathrooms, but, preferably, in the bedrooms and living room (where a lot of people can be and from this an increased level of carbon dioxide appears). With increased humidity - mold in the corners.

There is a document regulating ventilation in residential buildings: SP 55.13330.2016. It states that if there are more than two people in the house and more than 6 hours a day, then the air inside the premises should be completely changed once an hour. In other documents, there are such numbers:

It turns out that making ventilation ducts in the house in advance is only half the battle. For example, in my house there are five ventilation ducts.

Two more - from the bathrooms (go out on the roof on the other side of the house). But they may not be effective for one simple reason - the lack of the required volume of air for air exchange. Or in a simple way: there is nowhere to take air to replace the volume that goes into the ventilation ducts. This is especially understandable if the house has a stove.

The builders fired up the stove in my absence, not knowing that the window had to be opened first to create better draft. Otherwise, without air flow, the stove will smoke.

Plastic windows and doors in the house do not allow air to pass through. Yes, and the walls themselves are made of aerated concrete - too (if they do not have empty spaces). In houses made of timber and logs, poor traction in the furnace is not observed - there is air exchange through the seams. Walls breathe, as lovers of this building material like to say.

For air exchange through ventilation ducts and for the operation of a stove or fireplace, a constant flow of air into the premises is needed - a supply ventilation valve. And preferably with filtration and heating of incoming air. Let's consider several models.

Window-sill version of the Norvind city supply valve. Price RUB 2600 Installed under the window sill in a layer of polyurethane foam, which makes it almost invisible from the inside. And outside it hides a low tide - the valve does not spoil the view of the facade of the house.

This supply valve is also convenient in that the air entering the room is heated by warm air from the radiator. Cold air does not cool the floors under the valve.

You can also choose a classic format supply valve, which cuts into the wall and is placed in a place convenient for you.

Air infiltration valve KIV-125. For air flow up to 60 m3 / h. With foam rubber filter and regulation of the incoming air volume until the flow is completely shut off. Pipe diameter 125 mm. Length 500 mm. Cost - from 1500 rubles.

Such supply valves in apartments are called alpine vents. They are recommended to be installed, because there is no air flow into the apartment either: plastic windows and doors with a seal are sealed. There is no air replacement and ventilation stops working. Her channel will freeze over.

This problem is especially common on the upper floors. There was a similar problem in our apartment. We insulated the ventilation duct and regulated the supply of heat to the heating system so that at least one window could be placed for micro-ventilation.

In some new apartment buildings, these supply valves are installed initially.

Another type of supply valve - for installation on a window profile

Ventec valve. Price from 800 rubles.

More sophisticated and modern supply systems are recuperators and breathers. If recuperators are a separate supply and exhaust ventilation system and this is an unnecessary overpayment if there are ventilation ducts in the house, then breathers are an interesting solution, albeit an expensive one.

If we consider the most modern breather, then its design will include: a supply valve with a triple system air filtration, heating of incoming air and automatic adjustment of its volume in accordance with settings. The cost of such systems is from 22 thousand. rub.

If someone has installed similar or other supply valves, breathers - write your review about their operation in the comments.
