Simple knife holder: can be made from scraps

This oak knife holder can be used as a tabletop or wall-mounted design, and it takes very little time and materials to make.

To make the holder, I used oak trimmings left over from other projects.

First, I sawed the bars in size by 5 mm. greater than the length and width of the largest knife. These bars were 20 mm thick.

Then he made cuts in them for knives. I made them with a circular saw along the parallel stop. The depth of cut was set according to the width of the widest knife. The cut was made in the center of the long edge of the bar. First with one edge and almost to the end. He returned the unfinished bar with the help of a pusher. You can see it in the photo below.

Then I sawed another edge from the side of the same end, from which I made the first cut. I sawed also according to the markup, I did not change the settings of the circular.

The result is a wooden scabbard.

Next, I prepared a few more parts for assembling the holder and glued everything together.

After the glue had dried, the resulting oak block was first sanded with a belt sander, and then lightly walked over all the edges by hand.

Finished with an oil finish. I used belinka brand oil, which is suitable for food contact. I applied the oil with a brush.
