I stayed in the winter to spend the night in the country, and in the morning I could not open the garage to leave for work. The castle is frozen. I didn't know what to do, but I found a way out.

Dacha, house, garage - everything is fine in these words. Well, except that you need to clear the snow yourself. Utilities in your own home do not. A pity) Well, it's not about that. There is another drawback. It is locked in a garage. Suddenly, unexpectedly for me, this turned out to be a huge problem that I had not thought about.

Most of the time I live in an apartment in the city. I put the car in the underground parking. All locks are indoors. There were no problems with locks. Therefore, I did not learn how to solve such problems. Alas.

But a dacha is a “place of power”. It makes us stronger, tempers the mind and strength.

Stayed overnight at the cottage. I had to get up early in the morning to be in time for the meeting. But in the morning I was in for an unexpected country surprise. Not only did I have to rake the snow (I was ready for this), but also the lock in the garage did not open. He just froze from the cold. I put the key in but couldn't turn it.

What to do, did not know at all. The morning is early, the neighbors are sleeping or sitting in the houses. On the Internet I began to look for useful tips:

1. Pour boiling water into the castle. Here I don't know. I'll take a thermos, fill it with boiling water, the lock will open. And what's next? There will be even more liquid, and the castle will freeze forever.
2. Puff on a Vedashka or silicone grease. WD seems to have been in the garage. Just don't get it until you open the lock. To get to the nearest store with similar goods, you need a car. He's also in the garage. Not an option.
3. Use a special defroster for locks. They probably sell it in the same place as Vadeshka. Not suitable.

5. Warm the lock with exhaust gases from the car pipe. Is everything clear here too? I don't have a car, it's in the garage.
6. Build a fire to warm the castle. I didn't risk it. There was already a negative experience of one burned-out dacha. I don't want to repeat. I'm afraid of fire, like fire. Pardon the tautology.

What to do? None of the methods work. I understood that there was only one option - to use open fire. But after some thought, I found another solution.

Ice can only be melted at high temperatures. So you need to pick up something hot. And it is necessary that this “hot” be safe, and then it does not freeze again.

While I was thinking, I remembered that I filled the anti-freeze in the car. I was glad that at least this would not be a problem. And then the idea arose that antifreeze could fit, but antifreeze is still better. I just had antifreeze. Fortunately, not in the garage. I took it for the heating system to try.

I poured antifreeze into a bottle, made a hole in the cap. Heated the liquid. He went out to the garage and began to water the castle. A couple of minutes later the lock opened.

I treated the entire lock with antifreeze - both outside and inside, and keyholes, as it should. He drove the car out, and closed the lock with foam plastic. I hope there will be no problems with the lock on my next visit. But I will carry antifreeze with me.
