Cold welding, description and application in practice
Water can flow in places of welding, soldering of metal and copper pipes. In order not to resort to welding again (if it is not available at the moment, and the leak should be eliminated immediately), you can use epoxy mastic, a variety of similar materials for cold welding. They are quite effective and, as a rule, these compounds are suitable for pipes made of any material.

Installation of cold welding
Step 1. Buy epoxy putty or any other special cold welding product.
Step 2 Before starting work, do not forget to turn off the water. Clean and degrease the surface of the pipe, then clean the leak with sandpaper
Step 3 Cut a small piece of two-component mastic about 1 cm thick (follow the instructions of your chosen tool)
Step 4 Knead the mastic well with your fingers until smooth, so that both layers are well mixed.
step 5. Apply mastic to the leak and smooth it well
Step 6 Complete hardening of the mastic will occur after about 3 hours. Then you can sand and paint it if necessary.
Step 7 If you need to connect pipes made of different materials (iron, copper, brass), use a universal mastic
Step 8 For plastic pipes (PVC), special epoxy mastics are sold
