Where to get the "extra" money? We need to stop wasting food! 6 food storage tips

click fraud protection
Statistics again "pleased" us with dry numbers. It turns out that 16% of ready-made food, the average household sends straight to the trash can. Those. Imagine for a second that with a monthly budget of 25,000 rubles for food, 4,000 rubles are sent for waste. And for the year this amount grows to 48 thousand rubles! Now think about whether this money is superfluous for you?

Good afternoon dear friends!

I'm sure not! And if so, I propose to reduce losses and start storing food properly. Moreover, it is not so difficult! You just need to first adjust the temperature in the refrigerator, then after shopping correctly arrange the food in it, and already then try to make “semi-finished products” from some of them, which will be stored in the refrigerator for quite a long time time.

In general, I will not beat around the bush, but I will tell you 6 tips to save money on shopping by extending food shelf life.

1.Various vegetables. Do you buy vegetables that you often do not have time to consume? No problem! Try making dressings for soups, stews, pizzas, and more. To do this, wash and peel the vegetables, and then cut into small pieces. Boil for 2-3 minutes in boiling water, transfer to a colander and wait until all the water has run off. Then you can divide the vegetable mixture into bags and freeze. Now, when you come home from work, it will be enough for you to get ready-made dressing and throw it into the soup, for example.

And do not forget that preparations can be either mono (carrots, beets, peas ...), or a mixture (for example, borscht, Mexican or Hawaiian). The main thing is to sign, so as not to confuse later!

2.Chopped meat. Have you ever had to defrost a large bag of minced meat just to pinch off a small piece and refreeze the rest? Yes? It's easy to avoid this! It is only necessary to fold the fresh minced meat into a zip bag and distribute it over the entire area in an even layer. Then, with a long pencil or a sushi stick, “push through” the grooves on the package, thereby dividing the minced meat into portions. ALL!

Now you can easily separate a small piece to fry cutlets or make naval pasta.

3.Cheese. It is no secret that cheese is stored for a long time, but not indefinitely. And to a greater extent, the period of its "life" is reduced by plastic or polyethylene packaging. But cheese wrapped in parchment paper can keep its freshness much longer. So, now when you come from the store, try to shift it into a new package.

And also keep in mind that it is enough to wrap hard and semi-hard cheeses with paper, but it is still advisable to close cheese with mold in a special container.

4.Berries. Have you noticed how mold forms very quickly on fresh berries (currants, strawberries, strawberries, blueberries ...) when stored in the refrigerator? Do you know how to deal with it? Everything you just need to make a solution of vinegar (1 tbsp. spoon) and water (10 tbsp. spoons), which will need to wash the remnants of the berries you bought. Then dry them and put them in the refrigerator.

As a result, even after a few days, mold will not appear on them!

5.Cake and cookies. Those with a sweet tooth are aware that a dried crust appears on a cut cake over time, which some of them cut off and throw into the trash can. From now on you won't have to do that! Catch a life hack that will help you keep your dessert fresh. You just need to attach slices of bread (maybe already dried) to the cut and secure them with toothpicks. The next day, the cake will be as soft and tender as yesterday.

If you need to store cookies, cakes or pastries, then use airtight containers for this. Just put desserts in them, close tightly and refrigerate. So they do not absorb extraneous odors and excessive moisture.

6.Fruit. Due to improper storage, many fruits (oranges, grapefruits, pineapples, apples ...) spoil very quickly in the refrigerator. And they are not cheap at all! So it is possible to save the money spent on them with the help of a juicer. Take and squeeze every last drop from the fruit, pour into an ice mold and freeze.

As a result, you will get a great juice that can be used as an additive to dishes, salads, marinades or tea.
