Where and how can wine corks be used?

In every house there are several dozen corks from wine bottles. It’s a pity to throw them away, but not everyone can figure out where to use them to good use. I have ideas that, if implemented, you will find a use for such an inconspicuous, at first glance, detail as a wine cork.

For kitchen

When cooking, many housewives face such a problem as a hot lid on a pot or pan. There are, of course, potholders, but at the most necessary moment they are not at hand. For such a case, I propose to make lids with a handle that never heats up. To do this, the cork must be cut across into two parts and drill a deep and wide hole in the center from the side of the cut. Then put the cork on a metal handle, and for reliability, fix it on the side with a self-tapping screw.

You will need several stoppers for a hot pot holder. They are cut in half and connected into one structure using knitting needles that have a point on both sides.

The bottom of kitchen stool legs sometimes scratch floors. To prevent this from happening, cut the cork across into several pieces. Attach the resulting "washers" to the legs with super glue. Problem solved.

Spice bag holders will help keep the smell for a long time. The same “washers”, only lower ones, make an incision on the side and, bending the bag, fix it with a new holder.

For home

No phone stand? It doesn't matter, it can be built from two wine corks. On each of them, cut a recess, then connect with two toothpicks at the top and bottom.

If there is not enough handle on the bedside table, and you have not yet purchased a new one, then one inexpensive device will help you out. It is now possible to open the doors with the help of a cork fixed with a self-tapping screw on the opposite side.

A keychain will completely replace a homemade cork item. Use a screwdriver to make a narrow hole in the wine cork and thread the "dog" from the metal "lightning" into it. Fasten the part on the side with a short self-tapping screw, after attaching it to the outside of the cork and marking the drilling site. So the "dog" will not pop out, even if you pull hard.

An empty jar with a screw cap will replace the needle bar, but first it needs to be slightly modified. On the inside of the lid, glue half of the cork, cut in the transverse direction. Now stick all the needles that were previously stored in the most inappropriate places, and tighten the lid.
