Different tone of wallpaper, but the batches are the same: it turned out that modern wallpapers need to be glued in a special way
“Oh, to hell with this instruction - read it a hundred times.” This is exactly what happens with us. First, we do something at random, and then we are surprised at the result.
This story is about how they undertook to glue the most simple, at first glance, wallpaper with their own hands, but still messed up and had to redo it. You will learn about the features of gluing modern wallpaper.
Colorful flowers and ornaments are not in fashion now. Increasingly, they are choosing a minimalistic, monochromatic (I call it “office”) style. It seems to stick such wallpaper as easy as shelling pears. No need to select a pattern and join something together - spread and glue.
Pasted such wallpaper, and instead of plain walls, some kind of zebra turned out: the stripe is lighter, the stripe is darker, and then the tail and full (_!_). Of course, the first thing the sellers began to find fault with was that they slipped pipes from different batches. We compared all the labels - the batches are the same. The problem turned out to be completely different.
We have all seen the difference between cheap and expensive wallpapers. It is difficult to explain it in words. The cheap ones have such a shade, as if they took paint from a can and filled it with the entire surface. Expensive ones seem to be monophonic too, but there are some shades, halftones. They look much nicer. By the way, I'm not just talking about this.
We achieve beautiful interiors thanks to successful design solutions and a special wallpaper production technology. To achieve eye-pleasing midtones, often wallpaper make reversible. It is because of this that the “zebra effect” was obtained, which was discussed above. Be careful!
Reverse wallpapers have one side slightly darker and the other side slightly lighter. They need to be glued in a special way. In order not to be mistaken, manufacturers always put the appropriate marking on the label.
Usually we roll out the screed - glue it. We roll out the next one - glue it side by side in the same direction, etc. Tube after tube...
When gluing reversible wallpaper, each subsequent screed must be turned over. In this case, the light edge will join the light edge, and the dark edge will join the dark edge. The wall is uniformly painted.
I called the edges dark and light conditionally. If you look at the tube, it is difficult to notice the difference between these halftones. But on the wall with sequential gluing of screeds, this is very striking.
