Friends, probably many are familiar with the "easiest" way to enter a house made of aerated concrete. It is enough to cut a passage in the wall 💪👍😂. And as long as one really thinks that thieves will do this, I use this theory to my advantage.

That's it, I didn't need anything else to make a couple of new holes in the walls of my house.

I did them, of course, not for fun, but for a specific purpose:

My ventilation system with a homemade heat exchanger needed a supply and exhaust.

Literally half an hour of work and everything was done.

I'm glad about this, although many will find a reason for frustration.

Well, they say, how can you build a house from a material in which you can dig holes with any improvised means?

❗ I will answer that it is not only possible, but absolutely necessary.

When they tell me that a house should be built only from bricks, and this is for centuries, I ask: Why not from concrete? After all, there is so much more. But no, wait, because you can also sheathe everything with armored steel, so that for sure ...

And this is already considered by many to be a mockery.

Although in reality there are apartment buildings-bunkers. So there is no limit to our desires and insanity

But everything is quite simple. When making a choice in this matter, several criteria must be considered.

• The bearing capacity must be sufficient for the specific building structure.
• In this case, do not forget about the thermal conductivity of the material.
• And we take into account the convenience of processing, which greatly affects labor costs.
• We end with a cost...

Over the four years of my self-construction, I was convinced more than once that for my house, under my conditions, aerated concrete is an ideal option for construction. I am convinced of this from the moment of laying the walls, to the current stage of interior work.

Don't take this article as an advertisement... Even though it doesn't matter. This will not make aerated concrete worse, and for me this is the main thing.
