How to connect the wires with a twist? I show 6 simple but reliable ways

click fraud protection

Not only the performance of the electrical network, but also its safety will depend on how correctly and reliably the wires are connected to each other. If there is slack between the wires, the voltage in this section of the electrical network will jump. This is expressed by blinking light bulbs. Household appliances from such a "dance" will quickly fail. And if energy-intensive household appliances are connected, then the wires will heat up at the junctions, and this is fraught with ignition of insulation, boxes and other troubles. Below we consider 6 ways of twisting that will protect the wires from unpleasant consequences.

Method 1.

Classic twist

In this way, most twists are performed. The wires must be connected together, and then the end of one wire is wound onto the other

How to connect the wires with a twist? I show 6 simple but reliable ways

When the wire is wound to the end, it is necessary to tighten the twist with pliers so that the turns tightly fit the wire,

a long, unnecessary end should be cut off, leaving 5-6 mm, and the end of the wire should be bent, as in this picture.

Method 2. nodular

The ends of the wires to be connected are bent, wound up behind each other, then one wire is unfolded so that the ends are at the top. These ends are wound in such a way as if they were tied into a knot.

Holding the ends, it is necessary to pull the wires in different directions so that the knot is tightened.

The twist should look like this:

Method 3. Double twist

First, the wires are superimposed on each other crosswise. Then, holding them with round-nose pliers, you begin to wind the end of one wire with turns.

When finished winding the turns, tighten them with pliers so that they fit snugly around the wire. Then wind the second end in the same way, on the other side.

Finally, tighten the second coil with pliers to make it tight enough.

The result should look something like this

This twisting method is also suitable for stranded wires.

Method 3. For stranded wires

The ends of the wires are divided into two parts.

Each end is twisted so that the veins do not shaggy. The same manipulations are done with the second wire. Now you need to twist the individual ends of each wire together.

Now that the second ends are twisted together, it is necessary to wind them with turns against each other.

The end result will be like this

Method 4. T-shaped insert

This twisting method is used when it becomes necessary to connect the wire somewhere in the middle. In the place of the intended connection, the insulation is cleaned. If it is a stranded wire, it is necessary to separate about half of the veins and move them apart.

The veins of the attached wire are also divided in half. The first half of the veins is inserted inside, the second part remains outside.

The first wire is slightly twisted so that the inserted piece is tightly clamped. Now we begin to wind the turns from the end inserted inside.

Then in the opposite direction we wind the turns from the outer end. These coils are superimposed on the reverse side. As a result, upon completion of the twisting, such a twist is obtained.

Method 5. Twisting with a cross insert

Cross-twisting is also performed, as it were, by inserting into a wire. Also, the insulation is cut off in the right place, and “embedded wires are superimposed across the length and wound in turns.

The finished coil must be pressed with pliers

The second “Embedded wire is located side by side, and the turns lie in the opposite direction and in the other direction.

Here the coils are also pressed and tightened with pliers. As a result, the wiring will look like this.

Method 6. Layered twist

And again twisting for stranded wires. The bare ends of each wire are divided into two branches. We bend the first branches for the time being for insulation, we cross the second branches with each other

ends and begin to twist them: first one end,

and then another.

After the first branches of wires are twisted together, we first bend one branch of the remaining ones, and wind it over the already created twist.

We do the same with the second branch.

It turns out such a twist.
