Almost no money to renovate the living room? Not a problem! 6 budget ideas
Spring is the time when you want something new. Another job, another place of residence,... perhaps new decoration, at least in one of the rooms of the apartment, for example, in the living room. Well, why not. But, alas, not a rubber family budget severely limits us even in such modest plans. The question arises: what to do if the desire is great, and the "resource" is limited?
Good afternoon dear friends!
The answer is simple - get creative in solving the problem! A cool idea, inexpensive building materials, nimble hands and a bit of creativity can instantly change the interior of a house no worse than an expensive repair. At the same time, it is possible to make a unique designer decorative element or home accessory even without the use of a professional tool. A screwdriver, a tape measure, a pencil are enough... and of course, a certain amount of consumables.
And to prove this fact to you, as well as help in the budget transformation of the living room, I picked up6 cool DIY ideas that are easy to make in just one weekend.
1.Wooden decor. An interesting solution that will look quite good not only in the living room, but also in the hallway or bedroom. The main thing here is to pick up even and well-crafted slats, then cut them equally, paint them in a contrasting or on the contrary, a similar tone of the walls, and then try to fix the workpieces on the wall, observing the same intervals between all slats.
Yes, I almost forgot. At the end, you will need to install a decorative narrow shelf, it will help you aesthetically hide the line of contact between the finishing materials.
2.Graphic stroke. Think wood decor is too much for you? No problem! How about putting a simple graphic design on one of the walls. It can be a geometric figure, an arch or a simple contrasting stripe. The only thing for you to get an even “figure” is to propose to carry out preparatory work. Namely: carefully measure the contour, then stick masking tape on it and only then paint it over.
And feel free to repeat the staining for the second and third time. So your pattern will acquire a deeper color and brightness.
3.Gallery wall. Would you like to change one of the walls in a different way? Easily! Use paintings, photographs, collages, postcards, newspaper clippings (maybe even with a note about you) to turn a previously nondescript surface into one big decoration. And don't forget the frames! This seemingly tiny detail actually changes everything and everything, turning an ordinary photograph into a work of modern art.
And further! In order for the whole “ensemble” to look like a single composition, I suggest that you carefully consider the layout of all elements. It is desirable to do this on a horizontal surface - the floor. And only then take up a screwdriver or drill.
4.Handmade table. Have you been dreaming of a coffee table for a long time? Perfectly! I suggest you do it yourself. So, you will need a cylindrical base (any wooden or plastic), a lot of thin slats of the same length and a tabletop. Now glue the boards around the base close to each other. Attach the tabletop on top and paint the entire structure in a trendy color. ALL!
By the way, for the manufacture of such a table, it is quite possible to use secondary materials, for example, to make a tabletop from the seat of an old stool or a “leg” from the remnants of a thin piece of plywood.
5.Bohemian mirror. It's no secret that hand-made interior details (accessories) never look trite or boring. And if so, then I suggest you decorate, for example, a mirror, making it a real highlight of your living room. To do this, you will need the mirror itself, a lot of woolen threads of different thicknesses, glue and scissors. From the threads you will need to collect several pompoms. Also cut pieces of different lengths from thick wool, and then stick them on the back of the mirror. At the end, you will only need to attach the pompoms you collected earlier.
I will warn you right away that you should not save on yarn. The “skirt” at the mirror should look like a rich decoration, and not a pair of thin threads.
6.Irregular shelves. And finally, an idea for those who have a small niche or an empty corner? I propose to fill them with homemade shelves. You can make them out of wood or metal, whichever is easier for you to work with. The main difficulty is to keep the correct dimensions and configuration, since, alas, the walls in our houses rarely converge at right angles.
But the fasteners, I advise you to choose hidden ones. Thanks to them, your shelves will look impressive and modern.
